NBA 2k7 V.S NBA live 07--- my review...

(i played this game on Xbox... which means its the same for PS2... so its not a next-gen review)

i'm a 2k fan.. i used to be a Live enthusiast, but last years Live was disappointing so i switched to 2K.. and this year i bought 2K the day it came out, and just as i was disappointed last year with live, i am disappointed with 2K7... Its the EXACT same game as last year, with NO features.. (unless you count 3-way trades.. which by the way could take hours to figure out)... The tweaked the game play and animations, and smoothed the graphics up slightly... they added some special animations for Superstars, like the way guys like LeBron an Kobe move up and down the court and shoot...

but even though its the same as last year, its still fun to play.. because they fixed about 98% of the problems 2K6 had... which makes it a near perfect NBA simulation... which is good... but disappointing...

now to NBA live... this game made a few additions, most noticeably in the Dynasty mode... they kinda made it like madden, where u can see which players are happy playing for your team, and how there chemistry is with the rest of the team... there's a few other features such as you can view possible Trade Rumours, and investigate into them... there's a lot of stuff, i just browsed through it... lets just say there's ALOT to do in dynasty mode this year...
the gameplay however is Terrible... the graphics (compared to 2k) look cartoonish.. its VERY arcade-like... you press a button and your player twirls and dances and does his moves blah blah blah... the gameplay is awful at best... if your coming up the court, your defender seems to glide in front of you the whole way, blocking you like a brick wall... this kills the tempo if ure playing at a harder difficulty.. the animations are just like previous years... boring and repetitive..

so.. the final verdict is-- if you haven't played an NBA 2k before, this year is the year to switch over... and if your already a 2K fan, just hope that next year they update some of the off-court 'activities' for you to do... this is a disappointing year for NBA games... (however, i hear its a different story for the Xbox 360 versions)

NBA 2k7--- 7.5/10
NBA Live 07-- 7/10

If you want to buy a game, and cant decide which one between the two, go with 2k7.. its about $10 cheaper and has better gameplay...

just like Shaq who's on the cover, the Game is getting old, but its still a Dominant force...

the 2K CPU plays much more realistically, compared to Live.. in live (like i said) sometimes you'll be coming up the court and your defender turns into a brick wall and you just push him infront of you... in 2K the defence shifts to cover you... In general, the Game play is better in 2K...

^^^ true and nba live just have more game modes but i would go with nba 2k7 worth buyin.

yea they dint put that much into the ps2 and xbox version because they said it would't fit it dint have enough memonary so they put alot of stuff in the 260 and soon to be ps3 version

its pretty effin awesome...im gonna rent live...but from what ive heard...from real NBA gamers...live is nowhere as good on the 360

iv got live 07 and from wat iv played from it..it seems alrite but i dunno i never ended up getting 2k6 and im not sure if i should get 2k7 from wat iv heard ppl say its not worth it

I Recommend buying a 360 and playing NBA 2K7 the Signature Shots and Post moves are sweet.

NBA 2K7 is better. and this is coming from someone who has EVERY coppy of NBA Live since 2003.

NBA 2K7 has ALOT better graphics, a better replay system, more realistic gameplay, better Statistical intergration like halftime players of the game, the announcer interviews the player of the game after it is over. it's just overall.....better.

this is how I'd rate it.

NBA 2K7-8.5
NBA Live 07-7.3
