He just had a interview or a rant where he was talking bout Jay-z... talking bout how he's all about money and hiphop isn't in his soul and shit... dude is just coked up and can't figure out why when jay was the president at def jam he wouldn't give dmx more money to go buy coke with........

but yeah dude had his years and hits... now that i look back on it though and wipe the dust off of some of his cds a lot of his music just sounds mad corny.

if you ever read X's book (and you should, very dope) then dude claims to have battled and beaten AG and Lord Finesse (at the same time), K Solo and Jay-z. and in MF Grimms book he also mentions he's battled DMX.

but word its really a shame he cant beat his demons, dude was fantastic, I wasnt kidding when I called him the best song writer, as an mc he was above average but wore down over the course of his albums but his song writing almost always was dope

X's first album was amazing, still stands as a classic, rhymes, beats, concepts, songwriting, everything was so on point

after that though he started to slip hard, his song writing was still great but his ability to mc went down, he started rhyming the same fucking words and shit over and over again and lost a great chunk of creativity.

I agree, except for the highlighted part. He has made few bad material, but I'm inclined to say everything, also the songwriting, was less in quality after It's Dark..

But the point he was making in the video about Jay's music is good. Jay doesn't have much soul in his music. He raps a lot about the money and the fame, but DMX has much more feeling in his music. That's what I keep respecting about him as an artist. Even when his music isn't what it used to be, it's nice to listen to.
