Hey people, wassup? Just back from holiday IN THE US OF A, yes! I've even been to a De La Soul concert in NY. ANYWAY

Since I'm back (yesterday) I've started listening to these albums:

I like them so far. I've also skimmed that Js-1 Cd and it sounds pretty good. What have yall been listening to lately? Anything to recommend (or not)?

just got done bumping that $hort album, dude is too fucking ill. me and my boy used to get hight out of our minds and sip on some sizzurp and just put that album on repeat. I swear $hort had songs where it sounded like he was rapping forever, listen to him twisted and it'll boggle your mind

I got that Just Ice album on CD, but the quality is so bad I do not really feel provoked to listen to it. Btw Shyne, why listen to T.I.? The guy is so boringly mediocre! PS I'll have a look at the thread of yours.

im wit JAF........i cant fuck wit t.i., i mean the dude can make hits for the radio....but come on shyne, i cant believe u used live ya life verse...that shit from him is sooo corny the way he flowed on that....i hate t.i.'s new flow and technique.....i liked him when he was coming up....but he fell off after he made king...i mean its all opinions, but personally i hate ti right now.........what ya know about that

the problem wit old school albums is its way too fuckin long....its like 9 mins a song....and it gets old and repetitive....but that too short album is good

I disagree, I think tips new flow is polished to perfection, his old music is cool but he's grown so much as an artist and a song writer, plus he crafts fantastic albums with musical diversity.

and on top of that, like I Said, he's just a cold muh fucka, TI can spit, dude kicks some real talk in a way that everyone can feel, as an mc I have nothing but respect for the way he articulates his words and brings his verses to life

All my verses picture perfect only spit to serve a purpose,
You ain't living what you kicking and you worthless,
Looking from the surface it may seem that I got reason to be nervous
Then observe my work and see that my adversity was worth it,
Verses autobiographical, absolutely classical,
Last thing I'm worried 'bout is what another rapper do

T.I. can rhyme a bit, but the music is terribly uninspired and without feeling. I just cannot relate to it. And I totally disagree about that song. I think it's so incredibly corny and his delivery is just plain obnoxious. A friend of mine is a huge fan of T.I. and lets me hear his music again and again, but he's unable to persuade me as well. This just doesn't appeal to me, T.I.'s going to have to do much better than that.

Rooftop Soundcheck by Justice System dropped in '94. It's a jazz-rap album and uses live instrumentation. Lyrically not Illmatic or Word...Life, but it's ill none the less and has a fresh, crisp sound with the trademark '94 style.

Both albums classic, both out of print (of course). Download 'em, cop 'em, whatever, just peep 'em. You won't be disappointed...unless you're a faggot.
