I didn't get to go in the previous years, when the lineup was supposed to be better. But this year was absolutely one of the most amazing experiences of my life, and if RTB comes anywhere near you, you have to make the trip.

Say what you will about this years lineup, but the shows were all incredible. From the underground people to the more mainstream cats, nobody disappointed, at least in terms of bringing it to the stage. Most of the artists were cool about meeting people, signing shit, taking pictures, etc. Raekwon and GZA were dicks to the fans, but put on dope sets. Talib was dope. Chali 2Na had an incredible set considering it was only 20 minutes long. Slaughterhouse killed it on the small stage, and got everyone to leave the main stage to see them. Busta Rhymes redeemed himself from his kind of wack show at House of Blues a few weeks ago and brought incredible energy to his show, mostly doing the old shit.

And Nas and Damian were super dope... Nas doing his classic shit over reggae music, and then Damian bringing some Reggae soul to old Nas beats... Doing some of their own shit, doing a few cuts from the new album (which sounds like it will be incredible) doing Road to Zion... perfect headliners, I was like ten feet from the stage, and could barely see from all the smoke in the air...

KRS1 hung out in the VIP tent in between hosting the set, and talked about hip hop with everyone, just chopped it up. As soon as I get home today, I can up a picture of me with KRS... it will be kind of a self exposure... even though you guys have seen me before, I was super fucked up at RTB, and I look like a goober with a super high smile in the pic.

I got shit singed by KRS, Supernatural, Tech N9ne, Necro... etc. It was seriously one of the dopest experiences of all time.

If you get a chance, go to RTB... I will be going again next year...

like all of the artists at the second stage were being super cool, and hanging out and meeting fans, and taking pictures and signing shit, but Rae just dipped straight out, right past everyone, and GZA just signed a few things for some girls (who didn't even know who he was, and were just waiting to see Busta Rhymes and Damian Marley) and then rolled out real quick, too

fuck, I messed up my calendar... I drove back to Milwaukee to spend Sunday with my girl after Rock the Bells, came back to the Chi last night... now I find out that Lupe is at Summerfest (in Milwaukee) TONIGHT, not tomorrow, so it means another long night of driving for me

the craziest thing is that Necro was the coolest of all the MCs besides KRS... he performed around like 4:30 or so (time was all fucked up that day, so don't count me on it) and then stayed around for all the rest of the sets at the second stage (until GZA finished around 8:15 or so) just watching the shows from the side of the stage and kicking it with people. when i came up, he came right over to the barrier, talked with me for a while, signed my poster, talked shit about how they made him look on the poster, talked about his new album coming up, and asked me how I heard about him... so I told him about my friend at my old job who played Necro while we worked in the kitchen... and Necro had me call dude up, and told him he was a faggot for not coming to the show on the phone... it was funny shit

I actually have 4 tickets that are sitting in my room for the July 18th show that I won from a "Hottest Dad In Southeast New England" search on Hot 106.3

I'm still contemplating whether or not to sell the tickets because my friends have a time share over in Jersey for that weekend or just go to the show and enjoy it.
