Well, by nature, KRS is old school boom bap. He uses flows, rhyme schemes, and such, from that particular style/genre. His subjects tend to be about "whack emcees", etc. And even though he touches on political issues in some songs, he lacks a central message, or wanted outcome in all of his songs, to be classified as a political emcee. yeah you're right about that much, but he does tackle a lot of social black-power issues in his earlier stuff.

The people I was referring to usually download their songs in a single fashion from Limewire where there are not only no tags, but tags wrongly tagged!
