Well if you tuned in the news these last couple days, you might have noticed that theres this big ass virus epidemic on the streets of my city and others around the country. Also that some cases of this 'influenza' thang got to NY...

Me, I woke up sick last Thursday (didn't know why), fucked up by Friday (didn't know about the epidemic until that day), got kinda scared so I went to the doctor. Been better ever since, I'm almost on my feet now. According to the govment, schools, theaters, concerts and such gon be closed until May 6, crazy, they hope the disease would be umm, diseased, by then.

So just wanted to know whats word on yall locations about this shit...

i'm living better than ever. i dunno if y'all remember my old threads about living the good life stealing food from work, but those days are no more. i have a good job, my own place in the Chi, seeing tons of shows, not scraping by any more.

no swine flu here in Chicago yet, but who knows what is gonna happen, especially since the Republicans took the epidemic flu funding out of the stimulus package (they call it "pork" and then we get hit with swine flu... irony?)

do u know how that shit got started....i know what the cause is and shit, but is there a particular reason for the outbreak?

lol @ counting on the federal government to help take care of an epidemic. their record of catching things before they happen is absolutely horrible and their record of responding quickly after something happens is even worse, unless it involves bombing someone.

my guess is they'd end up spreading it even more when you found out they were using contaminated needles to immunize people. just like how those people at the VA hospital just found out they were given a colonoscopy with unsterilized equipment and now they have to be tested for AIDS. i guess that was all just the republicans fault too though.

I really think most of the explanations on how the virus got created are bullshit, except for the part that it somehow started somewhere in Asia. Don't know why.
I also think that we got it from the US, cuz as Grandmaster said the first reportings popped up there. Many theories mantain that it got here trough connection the Texas border.
But then again, we could have got it strictly from another country, since the 3 states that are being affected the most by the virus are no way near the US Border, or any international border.

Bottom line, who the fuck knows. It could be just a cover up used by the government. I mean the news don't talk about anything else, most people is fuckin scared to go out, wearing gloves and masks and shit. Whatever it is, Mexico and the US are planning something together this time. We'll have to keep our eyes opened.

ps: About the outbreak and how it got spread so fast, I think the thing was rolling around for days before, but 'they' didn't want to alarm anybody, so they kept it on the low until it got bigger than expected. It was outrageous how all of a sudden there were already hundreds of cases. So I think it just was a wrong media move.
