so dope, got there at 9:50 and was pretty much the only other person there aside from Kosha Dillz and Yak, Dillz greeted me and introduced himself, I surprised him by puling out his cd's and asking him to sign them, he seemed pretty damn happy that somone knew who he was, afterwords I went over to the Merch table where Yak was and talked with him, got his new album and he signed it for me, he was really shy though and kinda kept to himself in the corner of the room.

Soon more people started to show up and my dude came through, the DJ started a hip hop trivia game and whoever could guess what rapper he was playing got a drink on his tab, after 6 beers he made me stop playing and shut the game down, said I was breaking his wallet. The opening act hits the stage and was really good, cant remember his name right now but I have his cd somwhere, he kept it short, just sticking around long enough for a few songs and to get the crowd warmed up.

After that Dillz hit the stage, he was really goofy and funny and was just joking with the crowd, he managed to get pretty much everyone in the bar up to the front (all 13 of us lol) and he rocked it pretty hard, very dope. After he wrapped it up Yak stepped out from us and took the stage, he had a shit load of energy and was spot on with every song, he had a great set as well, though it was clear that he lacked the charisma of Kosha Dillz.

After a short set Yak wrapped it up and we all hit the bar, the DJ made the mistake of playing the hip hop Q&A again and I managed to get a few more beers out of him, about 12:30 I tapped my man and told him I had to go cause I had work in the morning, I said my peace to all the artist and headed out the door, right by the exit though we hear somone yell my name and ask us to wait, it was Kosha Dillz, my dude stuck out his hand thinking Dillz was going to just tell us peace but Kosha literally grabbed him by the shoulders and shoved him aside lol, he invited me to GZA's after party in Iowa City and got my phone number for next time he was in town, after that me and my dude hit a sandwich joint and he hit on some 14 year old waitress who for some reason was working at 1:30 in the morning.

Great show, its def worth seeing if it comes by you.

Damn, that's cool. It's too bad that a lot of low-key underground artists never really make it to Europe, so there's little chance of small-scale parties like that over here. Who is Kosha Dillz for real, though? I searched, but the only thing that I noticed (my 'a-ha! moment'!!!) was that he did that CD with C-Rayz.

That GZA after-party is unreal though, is that serious? I mean, is the Genius himself really gonna be there? Plus, have you perhaps not been suspicious of how friendly that Kosha-guy was towards you? Sounds kind of too 'kosha' if you ask me!

you're right, he was almost TOO nice, and he is jewish, I didnt see any horns under his hat though so I think im good.

but yeah his claim to fame is the Freestyle Vs Written album with C-rayz. and GZA is doing a show in Iowa City, suppose to be performing his whole LS album then moving to the club for the after party where Kosh and Yak will be performing again. I have work today though so im not even sure if I can make it at this point, I hope so though.
