IsLord of Killarmy & Artist Zu link up for a new mixtape and answers a couple of questions for the people!
- Chris Singleton, FMA What Have You Guys Been Dealing With? Zu: We are just busy working on our project that is set to come out later this year, not sure on the date. We are mostly concerned about the overall outcome of the music because this is my first project and Islord hasn't dropped an album since Fear, Love and War, so we want to make sure we come correct. Tell us about the project you two have been cooking up Zu: Well we are going to drop a promo mixtape for the streets and we are releasing this project independantly without a distributor because we are ready to take matters into our own hands and we will determine where we need to push and promote this project. This project is called "The Dark Sense Mixtape." When is this project coming out? Zu: Well I have basically finished 90% of the project and waiting for it to be mixed and press covers up. Like we said before we aren't worried about the time we just want to come correct for the fans, but it should be out later this year the latest. What producers do you have working on this album with you two? Zu: We got Silensir, Big Diz, The Audible Doctor, The Arcitype, Vinny Thunn, Lewis Parker, and DJ Skizz. We are happy with productions and the quality of music we will be providing this time around you feel me, ain't taking no chances with these commercial beats, we are sticking to the hard and grimey sound. Islord, how have times changed for you since you started recording again? IsLord: I mean the game is more independant and you got to do your own thing now, nobody is going to hold your hand or walk you through it. I have carefully crafted my style and remain the most unique in the Wu Tang squad and will remain to do so. What music does IsLord listen to now? IsLord: I mean, i listen to old school hip-hop still. I listen to my new songs, reggae from the early 90's. I kneep my ears open for good music as well as analyzing what everyone is putting out right now and i got to tell you i'm not impressed. What do you think of the hip-hop style now as opposed to back in the days? IsLord: It's more commercial now, obviously, but besides that we don't see artists feeling the music anymore. We go into the studio, we follow certain flow patterns to make the music hot. These brand new independant artists that are our competition have not devoted or put in their all for their music, which is the main difference. Do you have any closing comments for us? IsLord: Be on the lookout for the new project, it's hot. "The Dark Sense Mixtape" will be available for sale worldwide, the fans need to pay attention and open their eyes. Forget about this lollipop rap, it doesn't mean anything or stand for nothing. I want to thank FMA Magazine for taking the time out for checking in with us. Peace to the world! source:
