Jacked this concept from the forums at UGHH, which I sometimes frequent to get some news (but never post on). Thought it was dope, so brought it over here.

But anyways, here's my list:


- Soulja Boy may be the reason nobody takes rap seriously, but DOOM is the reason nobody takes the underground seriously
- Canibus never fell off
- Ras Kass never fell off
- Lyrically: 2000 B.C. > Rip the Jacker | Production: Rip the Jacker > any 'Bis album. But both albums are dope and RTJ still got better lyrics than 95% of albums when it dropped
- Chief Kamachi is unbelievably underated
- Ras's verse on Riiiot! is one of the dopest guest verses in hip-hop history
- KRS-One IS hip-hop, stop bitching cause you're not
- GZA makes the dopest concept tracks
- Diabolic is underated, but needs to stay away from Emo Technique
- Grandmasters by GZA and Muggs is a modern classic
- Jus Allah is amazing, stop hating
- Fatlip from The Pharcyde is the shit
- Prodigy is still ill
- Cam and Dipset make dope whip-bumping music
- The Horsemen need to kick out Kurupt and replace him with anyone
- Killah Priest is overated
- Magnum Force is no Nocturnal, but still a hot album nonetheless
- Pep Love is the dopest from the Hiero camp
- Brother Ali can come dope sometimes, but he needs to shut the fuck up and never do interviews
- The Beatnuts album A Musical Massacre is a classic
- Children Of The Corn is one of the dopest groups ever and their album is a classic
- Lord Finesse is underated as a producer
- The Lost Tapes by NaS is one of his best albums (obviously not above Illmatic tho)
- Desire by Monch is a classic
- The Equinox by Organized Konfusion is pretty dope and doesn't deserve the hate it gets
- Ruck is the best rapper out right now
- Here To Save You All is Chino's only good album
- O.C. is overated, but Starchild is underated
- Pete Rock is more conceited than KRS
- Dre is overated as shit and not nearly as good as people claim
- Black Thought is dope as fuck but is overated by many, I seen him in Top Ten lists...wtf?
- Kanye should never touch a mic
- Saukrates is underated
- Runaway Slave > Good Fellas . But both are classics
- Slick Rick is extremely average
- 9th Wonder is boring as fuck
- Def Jux/Rhyme Sayers/QN5/Stones Throw/etc. is pure shit, I'd rather listen to a sloth jacking off
- Freestyling: Supernat > Juice | Tracks: Juice > Supernat
- Iron Flag was dope

Dope thread, but most niggas (sane ones anyway) won't debate the opinions you stated. Most of the opinions on your list = facts.


- There's no such thing as an "underground style"
- M.O.P. is one of the greatest groups of all time and if you don't think so you deserve to be decapitated
- Masta Ace should be in everyone's top five
- The Realness is a top 10 album
- Xzibit has one of the most underrated flow in the game
- Bun B is dope, but rarely allows himself to truly shine on solo shit due to too many features. Case in point, "Get Throwed" (fuck you Jeezy). Also, I believe he has a classic in him.
- Cormega has penned some of the deepest lyrics ever conceived
- Royce's flow > Jay-Z's
- Chase Infinite and Khalil don't get the credit they deserve for the Self Scientific albums
- Black Milk puts me to sleep
- Lupe Fiasco puts me to sleep
- "Against All Odds" off the Tragedy Khadafi album of the same name has one of the greatest beats I have ever heard in my life
- Che Vicious and Mark Batson are Gods ("G.R.I.T.S." >>>)
- Crooked I - Boom Boom Clap = HOT
- Considerin' how similar Crooked and Royce sound, it's a wonder we haven't heard a collaborative effort yet. They need to do an album ASAP
- Mannie Fresh looks like Paddington Bear and has crafted some of, if not the corniest songs in music history, not to mention he recycles the same damn synths, drum patterns and handclaps in EVERY fuckin' beat he produces... but why're they SO damn catchy?

-nastradaumas isnt wack...had mediocre production and a few extremely weak songs....but most da lyrics were thought out n dope...lost tapes is his 3rd best album behind illmatic and it was written...a modern classic

-vakills darkest cloud is a top 5 album in the last 10 years...hip hop has NEVER had battle rap/punchline tracks that good...not to mention it had dope concept tracks and production...and he's a top 10 mc of all time...get mad

-sean price is ill as fuck...top 15 in my book...his flow, multies, swag, and just the way he carries hisself on da mic is dope....underrated

-dres production os ovvvvvvvvverated....his old funk shit is wack...and his new shit sounds all da same pretty much...but he can drop a gem ay now n then...

-gza's liquid swords is da goat album...production its top 5 and lyrically its top 5....it came out in 95 and it shits on some of these more advanced mc's now a days....

-lloyd banks is dope...so wut if he's materialistic...his flow n multies are godly....maybe not currently,,,but from 01-05 they were...punches aint great but he can come up with a good one ay now n then

- Kool G Rap's flow is overrated, and as a rapper is also overrated because his music is monotonous and quite often boring when he doesn't have great production
-Soul on Ice is the musical equivilant of a bottle of sleeping pills
-Sean Price, Ruck, and all albums associated with either are never as good as they're made out to be by underground fans
-Most of the Wu group albums are highly overrated and it's sad to say, but several of them might only be highly regarded because they sold so many records (although I do really enjoy 36 Chambers now)....and I wouldn't think much of the Wu as a whole if not for their great collection of solo albums
-Ghostface has been saving face for the Wu for years
-Outkast's discography shit's on that of basically any other group, minus a select few
-The Roots' Game Theory: one of the best albums of the decade
-Kanye West is the best producer of the decade, by far at that (p.s. I guess hip-hop sampling of Daft Punk is what's considered 'generic' today, lol)
-The Infamous is really good, but overrated, both musically and lyrically...it doesn't keep up the same level of excellence throughout
-Without dope beats, Prodigy really would be a perfect fit in G-Unit at this point
-Still don't see all the fuss about A Tribe Called Quest, Midnight Marauders in particular...they're good, but are they really that good?
-Jedi Mind Tricks would be another underground act that nobody gave a shit about, and flat out wack without Stoupe's amazing production
-Kingdom Come= pretty good album minus "Hollywood" and "Anything"
-God's Son: Nas' third best album, and Stillmatic was borderline average for a Nas album
-Paid In Full can't be the best album ever if it's greatness can't be appreciated by more than one generation....which is why I feel Don't Sweat the Technique is the best blend of production and lyrics released by Eric B. & Rakim
-9th Wonder: predictable, borderline average, and overrated by underground fans probably because he's a watered-down, less popular version of Kanye
-Be>>Resurrection
-MF Doom is whack
-Masta Ace: arguably the most consistent act in hip-hop
-BIG has one very good album, which in itself is overrated
-Pac is also highly overrated but at least he has 2 or 3 good albums

- Legend of the Liquid Sword is dope as fuck, better than half the shit that was released at the time (and now for that matter)
- KRS drops too many albums, but never drops a horrible one
- NIA by Blackalicious is a classic
- Below the Heavens is a snoozefest
- Blue Sky Black Death and Molemen are two of the dopest production teams out right now
- Snowgoons album should have been way better
- Starang Wondah is amazing and if he dropped a solo I'm sure he'd be top 15
- Mr. Met is dope and underated, stop hating
- PackFM needs to get the fuck out of QN5
- Guru over non-Premo beats makes him sound like a sexually frustrated homo panda bear
- Inspectah Deck is a top ten emcee
