04/09/08 - Finally sat down with these albums…

First I went through this a few times over the last few days

Very dope album, Not as many stand out tracks as the first album but I feel that overall its a more solid effort. Almost reminds me of the difference between Sean P's 2 solo's, one is more well put together yet I find myself going back to the first for all the best songs. Still very happy with it. 3.5 - 4/5

Second I finally had time to sink my teeth into this, I was really interested after all the hate it was getting

It wasnt nearly as bad as I expected, I mean its def probably Dels worst album but its not horrible by any means. I think it would have been much better had Del let somone else handle production, say EL-P or somone from the Jux crew, but he didnt do too bad. Some very good cuts, some average, overall though it wasnt so bad. 3/5

Def Jux had little to no input on that I think, im pretty sure he had this shit recorded and just had it put out through Jux. Had they actually had somthing to do with it im sure the album would have turned out much better. That being said I can vibe off the album. Lyric for lyric he's the same Del, his flow is really lazy though, i'll give you that, sounds less Del and more Cool Calm Pete then anything.

Just went through all of that EMC yesterday and really gave it a good listen. Def one of the best albums of the year, maybe only like 2 beats I didnt like, all the mc's were dope, and the skits didnt suck, I was happy with my purchase.

I noticed the cd also came with some inserts for Masta Ace's albums getting re-issued which I thought was also dope and had be looking forward to getting DA and maybe another copy of ALHS to set aside.
