04/01/08 - Some help with sampling...

Aight, since I know RA aka Shinobinizer is seen rarely in these here neck of the woods... I'm coming to ya'll. Lately I been looking for some classic oldies to sample and just a few days ago I found what I was looking for. Now my only problem is editing the track into a sample. I mean I can get away with cutting from the song itself... but I don't want the song's beat overlapping mine. Basically I'm looking for the acapella as well as the instrumental to this so I can utilize both. I got ideas.... just need to find the 2 first.

Here is the track I want to sample..

Al Jarreau - We're In This Love Together

So my question is... ya'll know of any techniques or programs people use to sample songs? I know there has to be some way... other than vinyls.

ps. JB, GM, and some other dudes... save the random comments for the other 203910239103 threads we have.

Good lookin' if you can actually get some answers from em.

I just stopped making one of my few beats I been working on. It sounds pretty good so far but it's not done just yet. I'm still practicing with this shit and the whole composition of the melody is giving me the most difficult time. I'm trying to find the right place to put the chorus and all that shit...

but this sample is for another beat I'm working on.

Yo i sample(ON DA MPC BITCH) but im having trouble figuring out how to use shit that already has drums and shit going thru it

if u listen to a lot of shit they just loop it and reinforce a few kicks and add more bass

as far as i know you cant remove drums from a song so u either have to loop/chop or find an instrumental section of a song,

it can get frustrating so jus mess around with it and see what u can come up with

only way u can sorta eliminate the beat from a sample is if u EQ it out

if u usin FL use the Fruity EQ 2 and when the beat hits, lower it on the channel it corresponds too
