In this day in age, it hurts me to say it but hip-hop is pop music. I agree with R.A. when he said WHO THE FUCK CARES ABOUT ALBUM SALES but when you think rap/hip-hop as a whole for the majority of people listening to it chances are some random underground dude trying to sell out a skate park ain't gonna be the ones people think of. Dude talking bout he selling 120,000 tickets? Does anyone believe that?

I think the difference would be people who make hip hop that becomes popular, and people who try to change hip hop to conform to popular trends.
