12/18/07 - Today was one of the worst days ever

first I had to go to my man Kevins funeral, he was found shot in the head a week ago, fucked up situation, no suspects or motives or none of that, so I was already off on a bad foot today.

but then I get a call from my best friends mom, the first thing she says is "have you talked to my son yet?" I said "no, why?" she then tells me that 2 men broke into his apartment last night and stabbed him in the chest 3 times, "he's in ICU and he really wants to see you, his lung has collapsed but he's doing better".

So im not even gonna lie to ya'll man, first thing I did when I hung up that phone was burst into tears, I cried hard, im not even gonna front about that. I had just lost my step mom a few months ago and now I thought I was gonna lose my brother. anyways I leave the house to see him, pick up the new Source and XXL for him, also copped him that new Lupe so he would have somthing to listen to. I get up there and he seems to be doing ok, he's got all types of tubes and shit running in and out of him though, got one directly in his chest thats pulling blood out of his lungs. We talk for 2 or 3 hours and he tells me the whole story..

Him and my man nick were sitting on his couch at his apartment listening to music, all of the sudden they hear a loud crash, someone had kicked the door in. he jumped up to see what was going on when 1 of the guys rushed him, he took a swipe at my mans face and cut him across the head, took another swing and took a chunk out of his arm. by this time my man got close enough to grab dude and wrestle with him, he managed to get his knife out and started going to work on dudes back, said he had to have gotten him like 7 times, then the guy who broke in pulls back and stabs my man in the chest 3 times and bolts out the door. the other guy that was with him was holding my man Nick down saying too stay out of it cause they wasnt after him.

My man lay their bleeding waiting for the ambulance and lost 6 pints of blood, to my understanding there's only 11 pints in the human body so that should give you an idea of how bad it was.

anyways the first thing he says to me when I get to the hospitle.. I walk in the room, everyone clears out so we can talk in private. he just looks my right in the eye and says "them nigga's tried to kill me, I was suppose to die last night..over a female"

He saw the guy doing the knife work and recognized him right away, it was the brother of the girl he had just broken up with, they were together 3 years and he ended it cause he said she wasnt all there anymore. Motherfuckers tried to kill my man over a bitch, how sad is that shit?

anways for anyone religious I would appreciate it if you kept him in your prayers, I know I will be.

Quick update on my man. He had to undergo emergency surgery last night, his artery was cut, he lost a shit load of blood and it was flooding his lungs. The lost him twice on the table but managed to bring him back. He was kind of out of it when I went up to see him today, we only talked for 10 minutes then he passed out.

The good news is the police searched the crime scene, the guy who stabbed him lost his phone in the struggle, so the police now have the mans phone and know who he is, an arrest should be made shortly. Word on the street is they were just there to ransack the apartment, they didn’t know Lamont got off work and hour early and when they ran into him they panicked and that’s when the fight broke out.
