[ALL-TIME] Top 10 Underground Rap Albums

ok before everyone gets all crazy and shit wit the hatin

in my humble opinion (no homo)....i dont really see this barrier between underground and mainstream,......i see rap as a coast thing....west, east, midwest, south.......but ive always wondered how peeps really see underground as underground....

i mean we want to distinguish the mainstream to underground so we can separate the good, bad, ugly, etc......but i still combine mainstream and underground to one and place each artist to their coast

now to my point, im just wonderin what u peeps consider which rap albums are underground.....like JDT for me is PHILLY MUZIK and BINARY STAR is midwest shit...........because for me, underground rap is rap that is unheard of

People don't distinguish underground from mainstream to filter the bad and good. They say underground because an undergound emcee doesn't get radioplay, a mainstream rapper does. Shit has nothing to do with filtering good from bad, it's about airplay economics. But nowadays, since this whole underground movement has been turned into the land of the nerds, most underground heads are elitists and think that they are cool for not liking what everyone else does, that's why they like the emcees who don't get credit and therefore hate on the ones who do, and believe that absolutely no mainstream emcee/group can be dope. Which is chickenshit, because anyone can be dope, while it is true that the majority of the mainstream is tit-dirt, there are a few mainstream acts who can kick somethin' dope.

I'll post my top 10 albums later.

yeah....i mean i am aware of that and how underground heads dont get much airplay....but if u look closely, some underground acts do manage to hit the charts (even though they aint record breakin); they still manage to be on the top 200 charts, etc......and i do agree wit u 'the land of the nerds'

thats why i never see how peeps look/divide rap into underground, etc....but i appreciate your perspective...

main problem for me is the very very very thin line between Old School and Underground, some time u could throw Jeru in U.G but then realise his shit wouldve been mainstream back in the day ....
