I think that KRS thinks to much of himself, it seems like he thinks he is talking for Hip Hop. I dont like it, in my opinion he hasnt been good since 96.

And that shit he is talking about 50 makes me angry, he talks good about a person who is destroying Hip Hop.

I thought KRS was a smart dude, this proves me wrong.

Lmfao, you act like this is the first time in history that a vet has co-signed a wack artist. Kool G Rap gave 50 and Juelz Santana props last year. Is he overrated now too? Rakim said Dipset is "holdin' down New York" and that he'd be interested in collaboratin' with 'em. While I don't hate Cam'Ron per se, does this mean Dipset has to become my favourite rap crew of all time just so Ra and G Rap won't be upset? KRS didn't act like he was speakin' for anybody. All he said was he thought Curtis was dope. Honestly, who gives a shit?

That doesn't make sense. And hate it or love it, but 50 Cent has been one of the biggest names in the music industry in the last decade. You can act like it never happened, but dude has more fans rockin' his music than anyone else in his prime. I give him big props for that. He's still making the paper. Sure, it might be at the expense of real Hip-Hop, but then again... real Hip-Hop will never die.

But what seems real funny to me is that KRS did 'Classic' with Kanye and the rest of 'em, but then comes here and says Kanye doesn't do Hip-Hop. lmao... shit's hilarious.

Nobody gets 'mad', but critical and nobody argues he can't have an opinion, but that doesn't make it less fucked up.

And I see Montana's point, but I agree with Bini in the end. It's hard to see the exact motivations of veterans to say these things and thus question their sincerity, but KRS bases his whole image on truth and realness. He knows people listen to him because he's a talented speaker and he takes advantage of that.

Naw, JAF, I don't think you see my point. Look, if somebody who disliked 50 before alluvasudden decided to call him "hip-hop's messiah" just 'cause KRS said so, that person was fucked up to begin with. Furthermore we can't completely blame hip-hop's decline on G-Unit, any less than the G-Unit groupies on this site can blame it on the South. Is G-Unit the first rap crew ever in life to make wack music? There've been wack artists/crews comin' out with hot garbage for years and G-Unit's hardly worst thing that's ever happened to rap music (Pastor Troy, anyone?). While I disagree that KRS was bein' arrogant in the video or made any implication that people HAD TO follow what he said, let's face it - he's the T'Cha. Check the resume, people. Kris is hip-hop. He's got the right to be a little bit snobbish. I'm not sayin' I agree with dude that 50 Cent "has heart" - I give dude another 3 years and he'll be a hasbeen. But at the end of the day, everybody has the right to their own opinion.

For the people who know 50's music and can analyze it properly by comparing it to other artists, there is less dependency on people like KRS to tell them what to like. But for the people who don't know and for the people who already support 50 this is a major misguidance.

If KRS was praising any of those MC's -- and maybe he already did (?) -- I'd have exactly the same objection. But I'm not suggesting 50 Cent is the only thing wrong with Hip-Hop. Maybe that makes it an even more extraordinary comment from him since one could also count in all of those other wack artists when praising 50 Cent.

This is not the first time KRS has been hypocritical. Remember he made the joint 'Stop the Violence' after making an album like 'Criminal Minded', but also after the song he has an history of being violent. And although he took an anti-commercial stance he was the first rapper doing an advertisement commercial, if I'm not mistaken.

So it's getting harder not to get annoyed by his hypocrisy. His past music would perhaps justify his father-like role in Hip-Hop, but outside of his music he seems to be either insincere or lacking judgment.

Again, I'm not trying to suggest he doesn't have the right to his opinion. This is about questioning his integrity. Whatever his true thoughts are, he's failing to make sense of his arguments.
