okay I'm listening to the first track off the "None Shall Pass" album and I don't know it's kinda strange, is the whole album like this?

Aesop is hit or miss, you'll either love him or hate him. He has a odd voice, a hard to decifer flow, and lyrics that make perfect sense half the time and are mean nothing the next. He may take a while to grow on you but he's a dope artist, just very very different.

If by 'strange' you mean emo and gay, then yes. Shit is pathetic, Aes can't make real Hip-Hop so he writes up gay, random, emo-type shit and wants you to interpret his nonsensical rhymes. Shit is homo and weak, don't support it

Mos Def. As many know ive hated on Kweli's last few albums but he did it on this one, dude is back in form. Very dope album, worth every penny.

quick review

From track one you should notice that this album is nothing like anything. It's not lyrically breathtaking due to constant changes of themes in a verse. However it is production wise a amazing album. And the story telling is a uniquely dope.

stand out songs-

none shall pass (just dope production and a wierd flow that sounds dope)
catacomb kids (dope story)
get away car (dope song ft cage who comes correct)
39 thieves (great guest spot by el-p)
gun for the whole family (i wish el-p produced more...although aesop's production game stepped up on this one)
coffee (strange unique ending...but memorable)

overall...a deffinately dope album

i like it much more than Fast Cars, Appleseed, and Bazooka Tooth. Definitly top 3 albums of the year.

Fumes, Five Fingers, and No City are all very weak to me.
