Yesterday I went out to the local Hip-Hop store (well, local is a bit of a stretch, but w.e) to but Monster Maker, and meet C-Rayz Walz and Sharkey. After waiting about 20 minutes (which is less than most rappers make you wait -- Ghostface took like an hour past scheduled time) with about 20 others in the store, C-Rayz and posse arrived. C-Rayz came in and shook hands (the hip-hop handshake thing) with everyone in the store, then proceeded to the back of the store near the autograph table. His record was playing, and he got into the music, climbing up onto the table and crawling across it singing the lyrics. He then jumped off the table (still singing) and bounced past all the fans and rolled over a counter, knocking everything off it. He mentioned to Sharkey (who was a tiny white guy with a faux-hawk and glasses) that they should do a video where they trash a record store (the employees said "not here.") C-Rayz signed posters and albums. His signature looks like random scribble. I was the first person in line that had the new album, so he signed the bookelt then wrote "Don't steal me" and my name (sorta) "KC" on the CD. Sharkey signed the booklet "Thanks B" "Sharkey," and did a conventional handshake. On all of the posters Walz signed he doodled on the poster. When the store asked him to sign a poster for the store (the store is decorated with autographs from every notable hip-hop act -- Eminem, Raekwon, Aceyalone, Gang Starr, Mobb Deep, Common, Planet Asia, etc.) he signed it "To C-Rayz Walz from C-Rayz Walz" and again "To Sharkey from C-Rayz Walz." He had Sharkey make out his signature to him. When he was done signing he said "If anyone has any questions for me that they might ask me online or whatever just ask em to me now in person. I'm a real regular dirty nigga like Sean Price." One dude asked him about the Made shit, and he revealed some shit, including that he's suing the kid's dad cuz he published a record with C-Rayz on it w.o his permission. I asked him about the rumor that he once robbed Biggie, and he clarified that he decided not to rob Biggie in '94 at Rucker Park after sizing him up and being unable to distinguish his crew from the crowd. Then he mentioned his Nike ID Dunks, and actually complimented my Dunks (not gonna lie, that was fucking cool). He took some pictures with fans, and did a ridiculous pose in every shot. Sometimes he made them do some dumb poses too. Then he revealed his plans for the future: a joint with Rhymesayers, and an album with Sean P called "Manimal." He hyped his shit up a lot, saying that every time u listen to Monster Maker u get a different experience, that his live shows are sick (he has a drummer and bassist, and said that Sharkey looks like 'Megatron's nephew' with all the DJ equipment around him. Then he said that if any of us come to his show to go to the back door and regardless of age his people will get u in and get u something to drink lol. He did two live songs, and ended one song hiding under the table he signed at, not emerging until the next was started.

Overall Walz was a real cool, crazy, funny dude. This might have been my realest, most involved experience with hip-hop yet and I thought you UG heads would appreciate it.

Word, I just copped that Monster Maker yesterday. Im going to order Chorus Rhyme soon when I get some Cash. And damn a album with Sean P? That will be beyond dope.
