Hip Hop Discussion On Oprah -- Friday, 6/22/07

Russell Simmons, Common, and some newspaper reporters will be on the show with Oprah to have the heated discussion.

I looked up the times the episode should be shown:
Friday, 6/22/07 @ 4:00-5:00PM
Saturday, 6/23/07 @ 1:00-2:00AM

On Thursday Oprah had part 1 of this discussion with some newspaper reporters, Al Sharpton, and some of the females from Spelman College that protested Nelly having a concert on their campus.

i agree with people on her show...if wack people get fired underground artist are stable enough to produce great hip hop without bitch nigga and hoe...which would mean hip hop would prevail...

It's not that simple. Hip-Hop needs mainstream to give underground emcees inspiration to be different and unique. All types of Hip-Hop, whether mainstream, underground, political, conscious, hardcore, punchline, w/e it's all needed to give balance to each other. While I don't listen to mainstream or even like it, I understand that it is needed to make Hip-Hop in general run. One without the other would ultimately lead to failure overall.

well said ILLogic, i agree with you completely, but on the actuel topic of how rappers call them bitches and hoes, it does get boring and overused after a while, but thats like most other repeated things that mainstream hip hop produces, its just part of the masculinity and dominance that mainstream rappers think they have to prove to eachother or use to seel records, its what the majority want, so thats what they are going to get.
