If Coldplay's lead singer, Chris Martin, really produce that Beach Chair beat for Jigga, then he could easily own a big portion of today Hip Hop producers.
That is all... ps: For all those anti Jiggas out there, heres a link to the song... pps: "I got demons in my past So I got daughters on the way If the prophecy's correct Then the child should have to pay For the sins of a father So I barter my tomorrows Against my yesterdays In hopes that she'll be OK" Classy Rhyme...

the more I listen to Jay, the more I think he could still quite possibly drop a classic album if he really tried.

Jay has never been a CLASSIC artist in my opinion .. i dont know why, but his flow and rapping abilities to me are easily comparable to 50 .. except when he drops dope tracks like Beach Chair but most of the time he is comparable to 50 ..

^ because after Reasonable Doubt he fell off .. its kinda like Nas' situation where he dropped a REALLY REALLY dope debut but he never lived up to it again ..

One day when I'm really bored (and have a new hard drive), I'm going to download Jay's whole discog and listen to all his albums and see how he fell off. Everyone says he has... but I need to see for myself.

@nok
I recently did exactly that Jay-Z Reasonable Doubt 9.5 Jay-Z In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 6.8 Jay-Z Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life 4.8 Jay-Z Vol. 3... Life and Times of S. Carter 5.9 Jay-Z The Dynasty: Roc La Familia 5.0 Jay-Z The Blueprint 8.2 Jay-Z Unplugged 8.4 Jay-Z The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse 6.2 Jay-Z The Black Album 8.6 Jay-Z/Linkin Park Collision Course 6.7 Jay-Z Kingdom Come 7.7 as you can see from my detailed research, Jay did indeed have a time where he dropped THREE straight albums that were wack for his standards But he picked up his game and dropped 3 more great albums (blueprint, unplugged, black album)....not to mention that even his "wack" albums had flashes of brilliance on all of them.

Jay on the other hand, made one classic, his debut. Everything else is average or mediocre at best, he's pretty skippable, but RD was classic. And for the record, Illmatic > Reasonable Doubt. Reasonable Doubt > Any other NaS album aside from Illmatic. Stillmatic, The Lost Tapes, It Was Written > Jay-Z's entire discography aside from Reasonable Doubt. Aight, I'm done breakin' it down for y'all, I'm out niggas.

Stillmatic is overrated as fuck and not a classic, It Was Written is much closer to being classic, I Am was average, Lost Tapes were indeed dope as fuck, God's Son was good, SD was ok, and HHID is underrated

I got a Jay-Z related question...
I was trying to hear a verse from Dead Presidents I, but on the version of the Reasonable Doubt album I own, theres only the part II...Why the fuck is this?...Wasn't the part II realesed on a later album? Shit...I need Dead Presidents I...someone hit me witta link please... Also....The cover of the version I got, has two dots on top of the Y...Why is this? I mean, is it different from the ones without the spots?

theres a bit of a misunderstanding .. what i meant by this is that since their dope debuts they couldnt carry on the same skill they had there on to the furture albums .. sure they had classic albums after their debut but it wasnt as comparable to the older albums .. their both in the same situation but Jay fell off alot harder .. but this is just my opinion so whatever |
