Help from my Underground Peeps

Ive been looking into picking up an ipod (or something in the same vien as an ipod) but I am completely ignorant when it comes to gadgets like this, im looking for something that can hold a lot of music but is cheap at the same time (probably not over $250), now ive been doing a bit of research and it seems like the larger ipods can hold a shit load of music but run off of a hard drive which I hear can be pretty easily damaged and worn down in about a years time, on the flip the smaller ones with the flash memory dont hold nearly as much music but can seem to take much more abuse (trust me this is a must for someone like me, ive very clumsy with expensive things). Anyways im sure a lot of you have some experience with some of these machines and thought you might be able to give me some advice.

i'd say go with the 30g ipods. im about to sell my 4 gb ipod that i've had over a year (and advertise on ebay as new bwuahahaha

) and get that money and add some and get a 30gb one. My 4 gb is maxed out.. so I suggest you go with the 30 gb. barely like 1/5 of my music is in my pod.

ps. did you ever get around the mixtape and album i PMed you?? i never heard any feedback :/

nah video functionality doesnt really mean shit to me, I just need somthing that will play my music and hold up for a while, I dont want to invest $250-$300 on somthing im going to have to replace in a year.

good choice on 5.5 generation, cause that shit is real updated....dont get the ipod 30 from the first release in the 5th generation, cause its brand new

but cheaaaaa, 5.5 generation is good....id recommend waitin a lil for the price to drop down, but other than that its your best bet in my opinion

yeah I think the 5.5 is what i'll most likely invest my cash in, Yo Unit, how long does it generally take for the prices to drop on these things? cause I probably wont be picking it up for a few months at least. I need to get another job now that the holidays are over. Im down to my last $300 lol

get a 60 gig. . .i regret buying my 30. . .its almost filled. . .but i bought it when it first came out. . .had it over a year now and its still works like its new. . .

u can get a discount online. . .just search sites or look for some shit like "purchases over 300$ get 15% off". . .some shit like that. .

theres always ebay. . .

i dunno when the prices drop...cause for me i bought my 5.0 generaiton 60 GB at 430 (nov) and i regret it cause the next year around feb it was crazily low (360)

Well my ipod broke 8 days before my warranty was up so they sent me a new 1..... this ones goin fine now though... and its like 2nd or 3rd generation too.... which is old.. lol

everything you heard about iPods sucking or w/e : its a LIE. all the "my ipod just broke down" bullshit is the logical effect of dumb people not taking care of it and dropping it often and putting it in their pockets with their keys and shit...

I've had my ipod for a small year now, and god.. it's the best buy of my life.. I'm still using it everywhere.. the video quality is excellent.. (I bought the exact one u'r looking to buy) ... 30 gig is a SHITload of music, honestly, by u got that full.. u'll hate some of the older music stored on it...

just take care of it, and it'll be the best thing u ever copped

it really depends how much music you have stored on your computer. and how much music you listen to daily

well for me i got a 40 gb picture ipod for mad money i forget how much it was.. it was like the first picture ipod that came out.. then a month or so later they came out with the video onces and so on... its just stupid and to much money to keep buying newer ones so if i was you i'd just invest in something that holds the most now...

with my ipod i have so much garbage music on it that i don't even lsiten to its not even funny.. i mean like my ipod is almost filled now but if i wanted to i can delete more then half and not give a shit...

ipods are played out anyway.. i mean there nice to have but i really don't use mine all to much anymore... i only got it cause i worked overnight and would just lsiten to it all ngiht but now that i got a day job i bearly listen to my ipod... ever.... just some things to consider
