Ok so I reviewed this album but because of homosexual trends my thread was deleted. So I decided to rewrite a review for one of my favorite albums of 06.
Track 1 - Eastern Philosophy Dope intro to the album that starts off with some nice cutting by DJ Kwestion or Chum The Skrilla Guerilla, no idea who did it. The beat is nicely put together by Chum (the main producer for the album). Apathy keeps a nice flow throughout the song and talks about how it's like to live on the east coast. Funniest line: "You never heard of where I'm from? Shit, I aint sweating it, Apathy, hands down, king of conneticut." Apparently Conneticut is grimey, who knew? Overall: 5/5, dope intro Track 2 - 1,000 grams Again, more nice cutting of such classic acapellas as Biggie's "1000 grams of uncut to the gut" by let's just say Chum for sake of argument. Apathy flows well on another dope beat by Chum. This song is basically battle raps where Ap talks about how dope of an MC he is. "Flows fracture foes, flak jackets and wierd fabrics, A rap addict badder than you backpack faggots, Ap's a beast the cake's like crack on streets, You swear that you deep, but you cant rap on beat, bitch." "I don't care if you christian, muslim, or catholic, God got a whole Ipod filled with ap's shit." Overall: 4.5/5 Track 3 - All About Crime This is a nice beat produced by Celph Titled. yeah that's right, Celph muthafucking titled, the rubix cuban. He was a producer before he became an Mc and a member of the Demigodz/AOTP. Anyways, Ap uses his dope flow to talk about how crime can come from anywhere, its not just the dudes on your block it could be wall street stock brokers or Martha Stewart. Again nice cuts including Guru's classic off Dwyck "Clips are inserted into my gun, so I can take the money never have to run" "There's even thugs running things in the slums of London, England, Drug rings, kingpins, stay smuggling things in, Invest in a vest, chest protected with metal, Or you're life'll be broken down to the molecular level." Overall: 4/5 Track 4 - 9 to 5 This is a nice mellow, soulful beat produced by Q Tones. The song feature's Ap's fellow demigod, Emilio Lopez, who comes alright with above average raps about how he wants money, sounds new, right? Well this song is different than most songs because Ap and Emilio rap about how they want more for their families. The chorus is put together well including a nice soul sample "I kept telling myself." accompanied by the classic Jay Z line "9 to 5 is how you survive, I ain't trying to survive im trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot." Overall: 4.5/5 Track 5 - Here come the Gangsta This is probably my least favorite track on the album, but it's not like Ap doesn't come strong. Apathy comes with his usual dope flow and lyrics, but the song seems to be lacking. The sampled horns go better when the bassline drops then when the bassline is applied. Im not a fan of the chorus sample either but hey, Chum does well on the rest of the album. Track 6 - Can't Leave Rap Alone Really dope beat and song. Apathy and Celph flow perfectly with the beat that is again produced by Chum. The chorus is pretty good, doesn't hurt that there are some dope cuts of "Can't Leave Rap Alone the game needs me"Ap has a good verse and Ryu has an average verse but Celph steals the show tho with his dope punchline laiden verse. "The Rubix Cuban's at your door but I ain't singing no carols, Im like donkey kong I got you niggas dodging my barrels, Don't give a fuck where your label's from, We runnin up in your office holding your CEO hostage with a staple gun, And aint no stoppin this don, I got soccer moms puttin rocks in they palm and wildin out to opera songs, Blow off your brim and turn your fitted to a cuffi, Im like ricky ricardo except I love uzi's, When Im in the crowd, these rappers is shook, They won't stage dive unless they got a harness with a grappling hook, Damn right my raps are real ill, The Celph Titled talkin all since Kill, Kill, Oh you's a tough guy saying that you brawl in these fights, But you got your nose broken by a white bitch from a volleyball spike, Old timers ask me where I got my pimp game from, Cuz I got 99 bitches and ain't a problem with one" Overall 4.75/5 Track 7 - One of those Days One of the best songs Ive heard! If any of you has ever had a girlfriend then you know how Ap feels about his wife being on her period. The whole Im ok, but Im in a bitch of a mood, shit is mad annoying. And being paranoid about us being with a different girl, but we really are with friends or family. The chorus is so dope too hahah. "When it starts to happen, it looks like one of those days!" "What the fucks up? Attitude switch like the weather, Confrontational one minute, the next minute better, Let her get her shit together, I aint trying to say nothing, cuz she obviously bleeding out her pussy or somethin" "She's like buy me this and buy me that, Thinks I got dough like im suppling crack, Never comply with that, my reply to that You better start lookin for another guy for that." Overall - 5/5, bitches! Track 8 - Me and My Friends Probably one of the best songs on the album. Ap, Celph, and One Two rap about how dope it was doing stupid shit with your friends. Whether you were dancing like Kane, shooting bottle rockets at houses, etc.The best part is how the beat changes and Eso comes on with one of his patended dope fast pace flows. It's so unexpected and Eso comes really strong on his verse. "Christians get reborn, I say reposessed" "Any slander of the president can lead to arrest, Kinda reminds me of Benito Mussolini, I guess." "Traffic's the only time you seen a black beretta" - Esoteric Overall: 5/5 Track 9 - Chemical Dope beat produced by chum again with nice samples for the chorus. Ap has another great flow that matches the beat and raps about how chemicals in our food is affecting our health. Ap also talks about when he was little, his doctor prescribed rittolin for it and how many people develop a chemical dependancy without knowing. Verse 3 is all about how different drugs have different effects on the human body and mind. "Anthrax, death threats, X, enhance sex Steroids effects pecs, abs, and biceps Advil relieves pain, trees deceive brains Add a little chemical, you start to see things Water filled with fluoride will fix up your teeth Hormones are gettin' pumped in pigs, chicken, and beef Alcohol slurs words, Mydol controls birds Xanax calms your nerves if your brain's disturbed Vitamin C for health, to take care of yourself And you can even cure AIDS if you got enough wealth Food coloring tricks you, glucose addicts you All the dirty shit in food is why your clothes don't fit you Red Bull pumps your energy, weed fucks with memory Coke mixed with Hennessy turns friends to enemies Pills to stop pregnancies, slow the flow steadily Incredible, we're based on a chemical dependency It's chemical" Illuminati must be behind the drug companies. Overall: 4.5/5 Track 10: Doe Raker Check This is my least favorite track on the album. The beat isn't that great to me and the hook is annoying as fuck. Ap does well and has great lyrics again but the song as a whole is average at best. The guest MC is also whack on this track. Overall: 2.5/5 Track 11: Philosophical Gangsta The beat is pretty good, but sounds like it needs another sample either than the strings. Ap comes strong but Poison Pen is pretty lacking in his guest appearance. Bad seed also doesnt have a standout appearance so this song only has 1 good verse thanks to Apathy. The cuts are pretty good, cutting Nas's line "Philosophical gangsta" Opening lines from Apathy are good tho: "I spit liquid nitrogen, mics are left freezing cold, MC's explode and disposed of their weakened soul." Track 12 - I Remember This is a dope song that has Ap remeniscing his childhood, everything from Raekwon's Incarcerated Scarfaces to college kids looking for drugs. The song starts out with what sounds like a movie where the mom is scolding her son and telling him to get a job. The sample is also really dope - "I'm feelin another part of reality, now let's take a sec and think back" This song also has another dope change of beat and Apathy does a great job of changing his flow to match it. Track 13 - The Buck Stops Here Arguably the best song on the album. The beat is really dope, I love the piano loop, it goes perfectly with the bassline and skratch sample "I get the paper so I dont' care!" Apathy shows his storytelling skills as he discusses how the same dollar bill thats stuffed in a stripper's thong could be the same dollar bill thats out shopping with your mom, or your money you got for your birthday could have been used to pay for whores days earlier, etc. "It fuels deceit, breathe it in deep, the dollar's oxygen Imagine seein' life through the eyes of George Washington" Verse 2 exemplifies Ap's story telling: Handed to a man in the corner store for lottery Taken from that man in the store in a robbery Given to some kid on the block for a rock Which is stacked in the pile and gets rolled up in the knot Then it's given to a man in a van for a Glock But that man in the van just got caught by the cops So it's given to the cops so the man isn't locked Then the cops split it up so the cash isn't hot The dollar bill's just a small percentage of the whole It's better to spend that excess cheddar slow Keep it very basic, gotta be sure to cover your bases Pull it from the money clip, a tip for the waitress The waitress is an actress, she wants to be famous Her teeth are fucked up, so she goes to get braces She screams for a taxi, hops in the back seat The cab has an accident and crashed on the back street She's flung to the concrete, her purse explodes Leavin' several single dollar bills scattered in the road A breeze lifts a dollar in the air where it's blown In front of a child's home, where she plays alone Now she walks down the street, happier than before Ringin' bells on the door when she enters the store And with a smile from the clerk when the transaction's done In steps a man with a gun... Overall: 5/5 Track 14 - The Winter This song has a pretty dope beat and a cool sample of the wind blowing. Ap comes pretty strong and raps about how cold it is in the east. The song is more about where Ap is from but he uses the weather as a vehicle to express this. It also has a hook by Blue Raspberry, who if your a wu fan will remember her work with the clan. Overall: 4/5 This album is really dope and I highly suggest you cop it. Apathy is one of the best out of the Demigodz/AOTP crew and this is his debut album(not counting that mixtape shit) The beats are dope and Ap shows how his flow is one of the best. Overall this album gets a 4.5/5 for me. This was my first review (not counting the one that got deleted) so tell me what you thought, if you agreed/disagreed, etc. Peace be to the gods.

This album is my favorite of 2006. Maybe not the best, but certainly up there. Ap came hard on every track. Chemical is still my favorite track .. that third verse was INSANE

speaking of Chemical, am I the only one who noticed that on the 3rd verse he just kinda jacked Big L's Ebonics and flipped it?

Never heard the album, because I thought it sucked. I guess I'll have to listen to it myself now, though.
