During the holidays, legendary New York rapper A.G. (aka Andre the Giant) of DITC and Show and A.G. fame brought his South Bronx flavor to the west coast as he joined equally famous producer Dan the Automator (The Gorillaz, Handsome Boy Modeling School) on the 2K7 Mixtape Live Tour. The tour, which was put together in promotion of the 2K7 Sport's next generation video game titles, brought an explosive live show to fourteen markets across the west coast, including San Francisco, Seattle, Boulder, San Diego, and Los Angeles, and offered A.G. the perfect opportunity to showcase new material from his latest album, Get Dirty Radio, released October 31st on Look Records.

A.G., who honed his rapping skills at an early age on the streets of New York's South Bronx, explains that breaking into the west coast scene was a completely new experience. "It's exciting because you have to prove yourself all over again to certain audiences," he commented. "They may have heard of your name but haven't heard your music."

According to A.G., the album represents what his radio show would sound like if he had his own timeslot on the air, something Bay Area fans got a glimpse of during his recent appearance on KPFA's Hard Knock Radio with Dan the Automator. Throughout the interview, A.G. shed light on his contribution to hip hop since his Show and A.G. days, the 2K7 project, and his experiences with hip hop in the Bronx versus his recent experiences in the Bay. While the 2K7 Mixtape Live tour recently wrapped up with a December 15th show at Los Angeles' El Rey, A.G. is still out promoting Get Dirty Radio, which also features production work by J Dilla. An URB Magazine review rated the album 4 stars, and Remix Magazine wrote "The MC definitely avoids the curse of the classic artist failing at the comeback attempt, as Get Dirty Radio is solid in every respect" in their 4.5 stars review. If this positive feedback and his recent fourteen date jaunt three thousand miles from home prove anything, it's that A.G. isn't stopping anytime soon.
