So, New Jersey was okay, I guess. I managed to see one show while I was there. Immortal Technique was in NYC, and I got to see him for eleven bucks, which was cool.

But Chicago is way better. I am looking at apartments right now (moving here permanently) and seeing shows in the meantime. Obviously Chicago is a hub so all the mainstream acts come here (which means I got to see Busta Rhymes a few weeks ago, and he was surprisingly one of the worst live acts I've ever seen) and got a free ticket to see the Game tomorrow if I decide to use it.

But the apartment i think I'm going to get is like a mile and a half from this bar that is going to have the following shows this summer:

GZA in three days (already got a ticket)
Sole
Mr. Lif
Wale

and more to be announced as time goes. beyond that, I can see Del just a few miles from where I will probably live, as well as Kool Keith.

Beyond that, I'm assuming that Lupe will have a couple of huge hometown shows when his new joint comes out, as well as Kanye and Common, assuming that their stuff doesn't piss me off. And Rhymefest if he ever finishes the album

I think I will go to all of the shows, plus the really cheap local and super unkown stuff like Peanutbutter Wolf and Qwel.

And Lil Wayne. I'm just gonna see everything.

I was so pissed after the Busta show, though. He was acting like we should be impressed that he could rap the first verse of Break Ya Neck.

but seriously. when you think of people who should be dope live, Busta Rhymes was up there for me, right by like the Roots.

I figured all that energy, maybe perform some songs off Dillagence on account of the amazing flows and beats. but no, he focused only on past hits, and only did like a verse of each before getting all tired out.

if someone ELSE could do a verse of Break Ya Neck, that owuld be impressive. but I kind of assume that you can, on account of it being your song. He did a verse, then like leaned forward with his eyes bugging out like BE IMPRESSED, DID YOU HEAR HOW FAST THAT WAS?

and seriously. what a shithole new jersey is. its like two miles wide, the biggest city is full of nothing but dollar stores and fried chicken places, and there is nothign going on, despite supposedly being a real state.

there is more to do in Milwaukee than Newark

while I was out there, I did find that Philly was a cooler city than NYC to me.

that always made me laugh. Jersey is a shithole, and Delaware is barely a real place, but it fit the rhyme

gotta admit, that was actually a really good show. game certainly knows how to get an audience hyped, and the HOB bar is not too expensive.

all in all, it was totally worth the drive and the drive home drunk
