Journeyman Barnes agrees to 2-year deal with Magic
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Well-traveled free-agent forward Matt Barnes has agreed to a two-year contract with the Orlando Magic.
Barnes' agent, Aaron Goodwin, who also represents Magic All-Star center Dwight Howard, confirmed the deal in an e-mail Monday, but declined to disclose financial terms. The Magic said they had nothing to announce yet. The 6-foot-7 Barnes averaged a career-high 10.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in 77 games last season for the Phoenix Suns. The Magic will be his seventh team in his seven NBA seasons. Barnes is the latest offseason acquisition for the Eastern Conference champions, who earlier added Vince Carter, power forward Brandon Bass and power forward Ryan Anderson. |

^^^^^^^could be a good signing, i know cleveland wanted Barnes for a while, or at least thats what i heard, he an ight player, good signing for the Magic imo......

He was Cleveland's backup plan. He is essentially the same as what Parker brings to the table. I'll take Moon over Barnes simply for his length right now.

lol id take branes over moon anyday....he wasnt good wen he was on the raps...always settling for that long jumper when he had no jumper...his defense is decent tho...

Him i believe i'm the one who wanted Ariza.
And why would they need Barnes? They have basically the same thing in Anthony Parker, who actually is a better scorer. Moon is 6-8 6-9 who can defend. Barnes is a decent on ball defender on horrible defensive teams, you do the math.
