Eminem & 50 Cent's "Crack A Bottle" Breaks First-Week Digital Sales Record

Rap stars Eminem and 50 Cent's hit song "Crack a Bottle" tops all debut-week digital sales with 418,000 downloads.

"Crack a Bottle" places both Em and Fif alongside mega producer Dr. Dre.

The rap triumvirate of Eminem, Dr. Dre and 50 Cent will soar 78-1 on The Billboard Hot 100 to be posted tomorrow morning (Feb. 12) with "Crack a Bottle," which sets a Nielsen SoundScan record for opening week download sales (418,000). The first-week sum outpaces the prior mark of 335,000 downloads shifted by T.I. featuring Rihanna in the Oct. 18, 2008, issue. Among all weekly totals, "Bottle" ranks third behind Flo Rida's "Low" (467,000 on Jan, 12, 2008) and Lady GaGa's "Just Dance" (419,000 on Jan, 10, 2009). (Billboard)

Em's last appearance in Billboard's Top 100 was nearly three years ago.

"Crack a Bottle" could become Em's highest-charting single since his 8 Mile hit "Lose Yourself" hit No. 1 in 2002. Em's last Hot 100 appearance occurred in 2006 with "You Don't Know," which hit No. 12 on the chart. (Detroit News)

The hit song will also be featured on 50's forthcoming album Before I Self-Destruct.

"We'll probably be making an animated music video for "Crack a Bottle," Fif sain in an interview. "That song is also on my album and I'm in the mixing process. I'm almost finishing up with this actual album." (MTV News)

The track is expected to appear on Em's upcoming solo project, Relapse.

The third and likely final version of Eminem's "Crack A Bottle" hit the Internet today, complete with new verses featuring Dr. Dre and 50 Cent. The track is expected to be included on Slim Shady's upcoming comeback LP Relapse, due out in the first quarter of 2009. (Rolling Stone)

No information has been released on when 50 or Em's projects will be released.
