Aite so Ive read a few reviews this past week. Some were fair and in depth, some were jus fuckin bullshit. So I thought after letting dis album sink in for a week that I can write up a pretty straight and honest review without being a hater or a "stan". First of all if you gonna rate an album like this, don't fuckin sit here n say ya this album is garbage all he talks bout is the same shit (drugs, rape, killing etc.) Remember this is a concept album. This is Marshall coming back to that crazy slim shady persona where he jus goes balistic on just about every song saying fucked up shit. While at the same time bringing some new and insane flows with some syck lyrics. So if you gonna review this. Don't review it based on how much you hate what he talks about on so n so record. Rate it based on his concpet and what he wanted this album to be. Only then I can respect wat ya sayin...I'm a big fan of Em which isn't gonna make me automatically give this a 10/10 just cuz it's Eminem. Ima rate this not only in comparsion in recent albums as of late but as well as his past records. I'm just somebody who can understand the idea of a concept album, unlike half the reviewers that rated and hated on Em's latest disc... Aite so here we go track by track mane....AND ILL TRY BE AS IN DEPTH AS I CAN WITOUT TYPIN 2 DAMN MUCH BUT I HAVE A FEELIN I GOTTA LOT TA SAY SO IF U DUN WANNA READ DEN THAT'S COO...

DR. WEST (INTRO)- Ive always like the past PSA intros and thought the curtain opens intro were pretty good but I gotta say this was one hell of an intro ta kickoff a comeback album. It really gave you fuckin chills espeacially when you find out the man in rehab who was supposed to be helping him was really just tryna bring Marshall down and get him ta stay on his drugs. Ending with Marshall being confronted by the return of Slim....Only to wake up at 3AM


"3AM"- This dark intro finds Slim Shady escaping popsomp hills and goin on a mad killin spree...kickin it off with bars like...
You're walking down a horror corridor
It's almost 4 in the morning and you're in a
Nightmare, it's horrible
Right there's the coroner
Waiting for ya to turn the corner, so he can corner ya
You're a gonner, he's onto ya
This record diffentalty gives you an idea where this concept is goin right from start. I could go back and quote atleast a few more bars cuz the flows on this joint were just crazy. but I'll go on...

"My Mom"- This is one of the more creative songs on the album. Where you may think at first...O damn Em's gonna dawg on his mom once again. Even though he does but this tyme he's blaming her for him becoming the drug addict that he became. Though he's being some what serious subject wise... The whole song is a over exaggerated tale bout how she fed him valium by crushing it up and putting it into his daily meals. It has a catchy hook and a dope beat by the docta. Those trumpets in the background also make the instrumental stand out from the rest.

"Insane"- DAMNNN the title speaks fo itself niggas....Em is back on his over the top storytelling....Where he comes up with another fictional story..dis tyme it's about his stepfather molesting him as a child and how he would fuck with his babysitter. People tend to only aknowledge the stepdad raping him parts. Forgetting that their still is a 2nd and 3rd verse. Therefore most may give this song bad repsonses but I gotta say he went all out on this one and I liked this one. Though I cant even rap along on the first verse seeing how even to me (an Em fan) thinks he went too far on that first verse. This song for some reason reminds me if "Brain Damage" ....From verses ta chorus. Though he talked about gettin jumped by his principle and childhood bully and gettin a hole in his head from his mom beatin him with a remote. But this time talking bout getting molested I still think both had the same concept...Fucked up storytelling.

"Bagpipes from Baghdad"- This is without a doubt one of the most standout titles on the album cuz first thought when you see this is what the fuck is Bagpipes from Baghdad? Whats it mean, dunno dun give a fuck cuz this shit is Em being the genius that he is. Mixing scotish and arabian sounds and instruments ta make something a little different n sumthin he never dun before. Though he takes a whole verse n some bars of jabs at Mariah again(which has Nick Cannon heated n cryin). The other half of the record is Em talking bout random foolishness. Like having sex wit 2 chicks that are connected.

"Hello"- I'd like ta descibe this one as a hot em track reintroducing himself with him also recalling him and his past life of parties, pill poopin, n putting that behind him n focusing on his return.

Definatly feeling this track. First verse is fire and the beats so laid back with them dre drums poundin in ya eardrums n shit....
At first you may find the chorus weak but it starts growin on you...Not right away but it will...Theres 2 different hooks but I liked the 2nd one betta

TONYA (SKIT)- Tonya is stranded in the rain but is then picked up by Em. One second she calling him a life saver to only find out the next second after he wasn't here to save her....

"Same Song & Dance"- Back on his serial killing spree but in a different form. Where he takes this party anthem sounding record and completly twists it into somethin of the exact oppopsite. The chorus pretty much explains the dark concept.

1st verse telling the story of the Tonya skit. 2nd and 3rd verse are about his meeting with Loahn and Spears. You don't find out who he's talkin about till towads the end of the verse. This is definatly a song you'll play over and over. One of my favs

"We Made You"- Just when I thought he couldn't make another song about celebrity bashing and still come out wit a fresh new idea at the same time. I was proved wrong. The idea of convincing gurls tha they want you by using reverse psychology was good. Evrything from the beat to the rhymes. Em came correct with yet another first single success. If u wanna hate then hate but I like this1....

"Medicine Ball"- He gives critics anotha reason to hate him again. Whether he's bashing Reeves who is well...dead or tellin women ta put ballons n they pussy n blow it up. He goes on this one! The beat is hard as fuck. Beat kinda had an Encore feel to it but evrythin from the drums ta the futuristic background effects. This beat was on point a full 100 nigs. He kills it, espeacially on the first verse. This one definatly grew on me quick. Ive been listening ta this one alot.

PAUL (SKIT) Same ol paul saying WAT THE FUCK U DOIN EM?? Kinda funny but a short interlude as usaul.

"Stay Wide Awake"- Were once again taken in ta Shady's cold n crazy world. Where in my opinion has one of the best hooks on the album..

This hook was jus 2 syck. This is probably the darkest song on Relapse. The mercin n slashin coninues but on a higher level. Spitting that slim shay lyrical murder over this errie ass beat Wit sum horror type yellin and heart beats. The rhyme n flow scheme was a lil more fast paced which I liked. Ya this dark theme may be even more graphic then Same Song and Dance and 3AM...

"Old Times Sake"- Just when this album was getting darker you now find yourself lightin blunts wit Dre again. I'll say this was a good solid track but you can't listen ta a dre n em record anymore without looking back at "Forgot bout dre" "Gulity Conscoius" , Say what you say" etc. This track in no way matches those tracks i just named. But nonetheless you''ll be bumpin this shit in ya whip. That CHRONIC 2001 type beat will give you that old em n dre vibe tho...

"Must Be The Ganja"- Another smokin anthem....Another stoner type instrumental witta a laid back Em flow. Another song you can smoke to...mos def...this is not really as good as the rest the album but it's coo..I won't hate

MR. MATHERS (SKIT) Mood once again changes again when the prevoius track outta nowhere fades into Marshall being unresponsive when paramedics where calling his name when they found him passed out on his bathroom floor from drug overdose.

"Deja Vu" Skit continues becoming this songs intro which finally has Em opening up about how he was going overboard with his addiction. How everybody around him were startin to take notice. How no matter how hard he tried he couldn't fight it or how he used Proof's death as an excuse to do it more. You truly feel Em's lost emotions on this one. Many questions are answered while putting some rumors to rest...

"Beaufitful"- Sticking to the seroius tone...Em starts to question where he's at in his life and where he's currently at in his hip-hop career. This is the only record on the album where Em wrote most of it in rehab. I'd compare this track to "Sing For The Moment" cuz it gots him talkin bout real shit again. Even know besides the first verse the lyrics are a lil more simplistic. This song is very deep and I'd easyily put this ish in my greatest hits list. Best hook on the album 2....

"Crack A Bottle"- Once again outta nowhere the moods shifted back ta the Old Times sake vibe of the album. This was the first leak from Relapse which got alot of buzz. This has Em doin what he doesn't do all that often(Shake that, Smack that)...club bangin music. Em introduces himself, Dr. Dre n 50 in a boxing type introductions. First of all that "Mais Dans Ma Lumiere" sample is genius. Dre turned this sample into a fuckin masterpiece instrumental. Beats 10/10 but as for the content in the song. Em spit a decent verse but after hearing the 13 tracks before this record. You might find his verse kinda weak. Dre's shit was nyce....as for 50's I wasn't really feelin it...He kinda killed the vibe fo me personally(NOT HATIN JUS SAYIN). All in all track is a party banger.

STEVE BERMAN (SKIT) Another classic Steve skit. The perfect follow up to the aftermath of the Steve skit from Eminem Show. Berman questions where Em has been and blames him for hip-hop current status since he was gone for so long. Funny shit though

"Underground"- As soon as this song starts u no u in fo sum crazy shit as soon as Em says Some people ask me.....This is a true sequal ta "Still Don't Give A Fuck" and "Criminal". At first when you hear this beat it may not sound good ta u...but after bout a few more listens dis beat is some hardcore dark shit. Em spits sum syck mutli syllable rhymes in this one. This is another favorite of myne. This was a good track ta close the album. hot joint.

KEN KENIFF (SKIT) A pretty funny outro of Ken parodyin My Mom n We Made You....Good ta see this crazy fag basterd back....reminds you more n more of the old Em n less of the Encore one which is a good sign. It makes you hope for even more of this vintage eminem for Relapse 2.

PROOF DEDICATION/THE VERDICT: Well I gotta say it's good ta c Em back in the game. If you read the front of the booklet he says he couldnt do a song for Proof that was good enough for him so he dedicates evry song to him. I can see how he did by not only goin crazy again but by the way he rhymed. His rhyme scheme had that birthday/first place type of rhymin. What I mean was he did alot of bars wit him rhymin alot of words that dont rhyme but makin them rhyme. He says he when he first met Proof that they both spit a rhyme the same way rhymin those 2words. So to me I think that's where the dedication was behides him just spazzin out into killer Slim Shady. All n all I was definalty feelin this album. Cant wait fo the Sequal later this year.

"My Darling"- This songs a treat ta all the Shady fans....Finds Em finally facin Shady. Shits was crazy...Beat was ok as well, not the strongest production effort but jus ok...Em refeneces on how he killed Shady by shooting himself (Encore Outro) n how he got away from him by punchin the mirror (When I'm Gone VIDEO).

What I liked bout this one also was how he was using his angry Marshall Mathers LP voice. You know that aggesive yellin n angry tone he had on that album....Makes me wonder why he didn't use this voice on any of the Relapse songs. Maybe he will on Relapse 2??? I do hope he's more seroius on it. Hopefully he goes Eminem Show on us on Relapse 2.
