808's & Heartbreak
Kanye West has never been one of my favorite artists, because i found him too goofy and outspoken for his own good. Never-the-less, though, his music has been great, with 3 nearly classic albums. All have been critically acclaimed as great pop-rap albums which garnered Mr. West plenty of awards. After hearing 'Love Lockdown' I looked over at my brother and said "What the f*** is this s***?", and he didn't have a responce for me. So I decided to find the song online and listened a few times, just paying attention to the emotion and lyrics... That's when it struck me... "This is genius!". Kanye seems to be the only hip hop artist so comfortable with himself that he can make a song so emotional, personal, and so out of his "zone". Then I checked out his site KanyeUniverseCity and apparently all the songs (12 in total) would be similar to 'Love Lockdown'. So I started anticipating, not a hip hop album, but instead a Pop classic. Fast forward a few months later, and here it is. When you listen to this album you can literally point the emotion, heart and pain in every track. Inspired by the unfortunate death of his mother, and untimely split between Kanye and his fiance the album is filled with hurt and stories of personal hell. Even if you don't like Kanye, or the direction he took on this album, you will have at least one song that you can relate to, whether you lost someone you loved to death or a break up. All-in-all the album is solid and driven by the 808 drums, electro synths, slow flows, and auto tune; and, although, that sounds like a really horrible idea, it comes together to form a near-perfect album. Songs To Check Out: Heartless, Coldest Winter, Robocop, Say You Will, Welcome To Heartbreak, See You In My Nightmares Ft. Lil Wayne Songs To Possibly Skip: Amazing Ft. Young Jeezy -Nick Kase

i have to disagree with you on this one. personally, i couldn't stand kanye's voice throughout most of this album, his production has really fallen off from the college dropout days, and his lyricism - even though he's primarily singing - is weak. i sold this album used after buying it. but, that's just me.

The Album Is Okay In My Opinion, I Even Liked Some Of The Tracks A Lot And I Pretty Much Agree With Nick Kase About Kanye Knowing How To Express Himself
