09/03/07 - 50 Cent - Curtis

Hey guys! I am new here and I have been listening to hip-hop since I was 10 years old. Before I start my review of Curtis, I would like to stress that these are MY opinions and MY thoughts. Also keep in mind that I listen to all music, as long as I like it (hip-hop/rap, rock, pop, ect.).

Intro - I like how the gun dealer says that he always delivers and never disappoints. This is what 50 Cent is trying to prove with this album.

My Gun Go Off - This song is a very catchy and grimy one. It's one of those songs that can get you pumped in just one listen.

Man Down - I like how 50 Cent drags his hook lines. One of 50 Cent's darkeer songs - so dark that Interscope has to edit some lines out even in the explicit version!

I'll Still Kill - This should have been the first street single. When in doubt for a single, always choose the one with Akon in it

I Get Money - A fast, paced song that talks about money. Pretty good.

Come & Go - Now, this is the next In Da Club. It is a club banger for sure!

Ayo Technology - A more sophisticated song with Timberlake. But, it should not have been one of his singles.

Follow My Lead - Another sophisticated song with Robin Thicke. But, it should not be a single and there should not be a video for it.

Movin' On Up - This song keeps reminding of the Jeffersons, wonder why :)

Straight To The Bank - Not a very good song, WORST song on the album, with Tony Yayo's retared laugh in the background of the hook... :/

Amusement Park - This should NOT have been the second single...

Fully Loaded Clip - You guys say 50 Cent turned soft? Take a listen to this hit...

Peep Show - Another club banger, this time with Eminem...

Fire - Best song on the album. Buck fits in perfectly, along with Nicole

All Of Me - Meh... another Follow My Lead....

Curtis 187 - Another gangster track for those that say 50 Cent turned soft...

Touch The Sky - 50 Cent raps about putting your hands up high and reaching for your goals. A good song to close the album off....

Album Rating:

8.5 out of 10 - Almost as good as Get Rich Or Die Tryin' but WAY better than The Massacre!

come and go - isnt that great, def not the next in da club

the album was good, but this seems like an album that you listen to for 2 weeks, and then just delete or toss aside
50 didnt get real on this at all, kinda disappointing, more pop than i wanted

this seem like he went to put this out to fast and didnt finish it...every song only got 2 verses so it dont feel complete...idk thats just me

50's Get Rich is a classic...I was dissapointed with the Massacre at FIRST but if ya listen it's a classic to...Curtis is rushed and TO commercial...

Get Rich-9.5/10 (I Love Many Men, Wanksta, NYPD, If I Can't etc...I hate Bloodhound)
Massacre-9/10 (Position of Power, Guns Come Out, Get In My Car etc...I hate Candy Shop, Gatman & Robin & Disco Inferno)
