2Mex & Life Rexall - Money Symbol Martyrs

If you havnt heard anything to come out of it before, I would like to take this chance to wish you a very warm welcome to the world of Project Blowed. Porject Blowed was originally a compilation album released in 1994 by the best underground MCs on the Left Coast at the time. Since then Project Blowed has grown and grown and many of the West's finest undergrounders can claim membership. The two MCs on this album both can say they are members of Project Blowed, vital members too. One things for sure though, looks can be decieving as one glance at either of these rappers would lead you to say 'Hey, that guy is no MC !'

Life Rexall handles all the production on this 2006 release as both himself and 2Mex trade rhymes back and forth throughout the record. There is no denying that there is chemistry between the two, Rexall knows how to create the perfect beat that suits both himself and 2Mex and right from the word go you are sucked into a fresh new world, another side of hip-hop than most are used to. Right through from Haters In The BK Lounge to Money In The Form Of A Woman you will find yourself nodding your head in apporval to the sheer slickness of the production, Rexall can produce his ass off. Dont let the production distract you from the rhyming skills on offer on this release though, because both of these guys know how to control the mic, and they are not afraid to let you know it. One question that you will find yourself asking over the course of this album and any other release from 2Mex is - 'How does this guy do it ?' 2Mex is a part of various groups and has been known to drop multiple albums a year (as he did in 2006 with this and his new group album with The Visionaries) and still manages to have a wealth of material on offer for each project and he doesnt let up a bit. No chance of anyone questioning the duo's work ethic, thats for sure.

So, a great mix of nice, calm relaxing beats mixed with a few hard hitting bangers and some nice guest apperacnes make for a very enjoyable album. Subject matter ranges from lack of money, love life troubles, fear of not living up to fans expectations and the highs and lows of rap life in general. I can promise you guys something though - no chance of letting your fans down with releases like this. "Money doesnt matter when your making music with your heros" - never were there truer words spoken. Keep up the good work Project Blowed.
