1) Money over Bulshit - Nice flow grimey beat nice track nas if on fire on this track,the hook is decent 8/10

2) you cant kill me - sounds a bit like the old nas, lyrics nice as usual but i dont really like the beat 6.5/10

3) Carry on Tradition - reasonable lyrics, the beat is ok nothing special production doesnt seem great and hook is poor in my opinion 5/10

4) Where are they now - sounds kind of old skool, nice flow and lively beat with some dude shoutin in the background sounds like somethin from 15 years ago, i like it though 7/10

5) Hip-Hop is dead - Thiefs theme beat which i thought was pretty nice, hook is nice and quick, his flow is nice on this track faster than on all of the previous tracks on the album 8/10

6) Who killed it - long intro, i hate long intros!!!!!!!!!!! track is kinda weak i think, funny voice pointless and boring 2/10

7) Black republican - this is the best on the album by far, i think its an absoloute classic, jay is fire, and nas is aswell, hook is sweet this track is fire!!!!!!!!! this is the Jay and Nas collabo i have been waiting for 10/10

8) Not going Back - First slowish track so far, beat is kinda slow but it isnt a girl track it, he talks bout makin his money when he was younger and not going back to the street life. nice track 7.5/10

9) still dreaming - another slow one, its kinda nice tho, kanye is decent, talks about women and divorce?????? hook is boringish nas is nice talks about street life again 7/10

10) hold down the block - not bad not too good though beat is wack!!!!!!! but some decent lyrics stop the track from being awful, hook is bad too tho, poor production 4/10

11) Blunt Ashes - slow beat not too nice but nas is nice, remenises bout some old times, again production lets this one down 6/10

12) let there be light - this track has the same problem as many other on the album, the production is poor, i would have thought that jay and the rest of def jam would have spent some decent cash on production, nas is nice again though 6/10

13)play on playa - talks about how he doesnt want his daughters growin up to be like the hilton sisters, snoop isnt great but again poor productions, this is getting ridiculouse 6/10

14) cant forget about you - this is better than the last 4 or 5 tracks but not awesome tho, this one is a bit differant from your ususal rap, he remenises about old times nice lyrics nice track 7.5/10

15) hustlers - thank god another good track, this is nice but nas starts name4 dropping dre!!!!!! he has nice lyrics "its hard for you to breath like you at high altitude" game is nice too 9/10

16) Hope - this one didnt rip to my PC properly but from what i can hear it sounds kinda nice 7/10

you cant kill me -This song is basically about a story, the beat is suppose to be a type of movie style and it goes right with the lyrics also a nice short story 4/5

5) Hip-Hop is dead - This song im liking mostly not cause of reuse beat's, mostly he points out how hip-hop has died and the change in the rap scene 5/5

6) Who killed it -This track at first glance reminds me of that one song ''I gave u power'' in the sense of a story but this time its bout hip-hop without metaphors. Not the best beat but nas is a good story teller 4/5

7) Black republican -This track is not amazing but shows how both Jay-z and Nas put together can make some good music, it talks bout even though they are out of the ghettos , the ghetto still in them 5/5

8) Not going Back -First glance i was a lil skeptical but Nas just spits bout not going back to street life but still loves the street, Kellis does good on this one surprising 4/5

9) still dreaming - Nice beat, first Kanye spits bout female's then Nas talks bout how getting hand outs is not gonna help u out out of no where he spits a short story bout a female, nice transition 5/5

10) hold down the block -nice beat for me and the hook wil get so annoying that u will be singing it, nice flows about how he has change and spits knowledge to young ones 5/5

13)play on playa - He talks about money mostly in this song, many people focus on production too much. Snoop rips it in this song due to the beat goes well with his voice and style, mostly a laid back track 4/5

14) cant forget about you - This is the best song on the album, he again reminisce about the past and how the past left a impact on the future. The female chorus does well. 5/5

15) hustlers - Honestly its a ok track not the best. Game does some name dropping but he flows well on the song. The track takes a lil break to show how the east and west can work together.4/5

16) Hope -Even with annoying chorus Nas destroys it lyrical saves this track. The one with beat goes well with the chorus but remember its accapella with no sound soget use to the chorus. 5/5

This what I think about the album it is up there with the top 4, why people look at production to much. Illmatic personally did not have the best beat at the time around 94' but the lyrics were on par. We look back and Illmatics beat were raw. Just cause Dj Premier is not on here its no loss. Hip-Hop is dead is the name of the album and Nas explains in his way to prove points on why it is dead. This just my opnion again and im sorry for misspellings.
