A country can be free and still have laws. And to your assertion that you could cuss out Obama with no repercussion or have a picket wherever you want, that's just plain wrong. I guess people that live in the USA always had it good so they dont know what bad it's kinda like a rich person mad cause they can't go out to eat but they got a fridge full of food compared to a poor person starving just grateful for something to eat that night

So cause you can't do everything you wanna do and the government censors stuff your gonna say were not free.....You gotta take the good with the bad you can't always have everything how you want it

That's a horrible analogy. A better one would be if a man was working in a factory for minimum wage and you told him that he should never try to advance to a different, better paying job in his life because there are people who don't have a job at all. He should just be thankful he has a job and never complain. That's the same logic you are using to justify your position.

Why should I be satisfied simply because I don't live in a dictatorship? That's horrible logic if I've ever heard it.

@ Lakers well with the Canadian government at least they...overly taxing us when they get payed ridiculous amounts of money...government employees get major benefits that the rest of us don't...make our tax dollars have to pay for people to stay in prison for things we don't give a shit if they do such as possession of a drug...

much more just don't wanna write an entire paragraph cuz then people don't end up reading it...

No country is 100% free. If you think the US is not the most free country, then you don't want to be in no other country. Yes USA is the most free country on the planet.

Sorry for taking so long to respond.. but do you want the short list or the long list? Well, for starters.. they spend $1 trillion a year maintaining a global empire on military force, they spend hundreds of billions of dollars bailing out companies politically and for their own benefit, they spend hundreds of billions of dollars and ruin lives prosecuting non-violent drug crimes, they have (through the CIA) engaged in propaganda and surveillance against U.S. citizens, overthrown democratically elected leaders, denied needed medicine to cancer patients, they tax my labor and use it for all the purposes above that i don't approve of, should i keep going?

Anybody saying no country is free because they have laws is an idiot. (Most) Laws are almost like a moral compass to some extent. No one should be "free" to kill someone. That means you have the "freedom" of deciding whether or not someone should live or not. Thats an extreme example but just making a point. Laws arent designed to dictate how you live your life.

To the other things....I can see all the points. I just felt like addressing that. And the question was is America the "freest" (if thats even a word), not is America completely free.

America is far from the freest country in the world.

until the only crimes are those that have victims, and everyone has equal rights, and people don't have to define their health care by their economic status, there are a lot of countries freer than ours.
