Samson C01 Condenser Microphone Help

I Just bought a SAMSON C01 CONDENSER MIC
and im having some trouble with it.
I Plugged it in and no sound is coming out of it, I also looked up the
audio/voice settings on control panel? A Blue light is suposedto
come on when it is being powered but no light is flashing...i bought an adapter for it
so i can connect it to mai computer as well, but i dont kno what is happening.
Can someone help me out please, thanks?

uuuhhhhhhh........you might have to change the settings for your microphone on vista/XP so it knows that it's suppose to pick that up instead of another mic.......and then if that don't work try looking @ the device order in your recording program...make sure its the first one the computer pics up....if that don't work........holla back @ me...and i'll try helping you more

yea im on a xp, how i change tha settings to all that?

uuhhhmmm........its either go to the volume controls...and you'll see a mic setting and mess around with that...or its in control panel unders sounds......i never even fucked with the USB mics...............so i'm not 100% if either solution will work...but its a common mistake

oh nah its not a USB mic , its got that thick ass connection to plug into an amp but i bought an adaptor that'll allow it to connect to mai computer right next towhere i plug mai speakers.. The adaptor pluggd onto it looks like a headphone jack...whaat should i do?

well... lemme understand... you got samson C01 which isn't the usb mic, yes? and instead of usb you got ordinar plug connection? umm... the problem is that your mic needs the Phantom power which sound card isn't able to provide. you'll need to buy a mixer IMO.

yea ur probably thinkn its the C01U, but nah its not usb..and yea that makes a lot of sense brah..
ima cop a mixer, but im not too familar on how ill have it set up
becauz i would previously record with a dynamic mic so it wasn't that hard
u familiar on settin it up & all that ?

but with a mixer, how will all that connect with my computer or be set up?
im used to having a dynamic mic, pluggin it in, and recording.
how will all this be set-up? im not familiar with mixers n all that

well, i don't really use a mixer but somethn like this: (sorry, i don't know its english name). you plug in the mic, then you plug THIS THING to computer's sound card (using another mic cable) and that's it...

you'll need to check out and look for the best settings by yourself.

in all honesty......i bought the phantom power alone...............and i wish i saved another $70 for a meh mixer.........cuz your gonna get much better quality.....
