haven't made a thread here in a while but...this is worth it IMO

y'all know the history...LL is mad at Jay for not promoting his album or w/e...doesn't like the way things are being run at Def...Jay said LL should have came to him if he had a problem...things were quiet for a sec...then came the I Get Money rmx

dudes are taking that as a subliminal at LL, since he calls himself the GOAT (he ain't though)..and he had an album named GOAT too

Jay (like he always does) denied it, saying if he would have gone at LL he would have went "all the way in"...aite, cool...

now LL is poppin off:

Jay got a album coming in two months...and there is no such thing as bad publicity...

y'all don't care bout a couple of near 40 year old dudes going at it? or is this worth interest? i honestly think they'd go @ it without holding back and it wouldn't be so bad considering the state of things now...

This should be entertaining. LL has a strong battle reputation(even though Canibus whooped his ass, fall back BHOB).

Jay is better lyrically..but LL definitely has vicious charisma when it comes to making battle records, I gotta give him that much. but Hov ain't no slacker either when he's goin in (Super Ugly, Takeover, Dig A Hole, Brooklyn High, the crazy sublims he threw at guys like Mase, Ja, and 50 over the years, etc). I think if Jigga was to put enough power behind it..like he did with Takeover, he could do some massive damage.

but you gotta ask yaself...what damage is there to be done? LL's on the verge of not exisiting in Hip Hop anymore in terms of relevance....this whole battle seems to be rooted in jealousy..he been runnin his mouth since Jay became President of Def Jam. this seems like a cry for attention.

BUT........it is worth it for Jay to reply, based on the strength that LL is a legend and a battle of this magnitude of legends would be great for Hip Hop.

I honestly can't pick winner ahead of time. don't wanna underestimate or overestimate anyone. just have to wait and see.

Eh, not the biggest fan of either MC, but I think it came down to diss records, jay z def would deal with LL

LL, like complex said, is on his way out of the rap game...jay could be seen as the president of hip hop(even tho i dont like him)...so yeah

as for it being good for hip hop, i think it would be worse. what hip hop needs is less beef to be seen as not gimmicky.
