^yes....but most of the modern battle rappers use recycled lines...............

real battlers(ain't many left) actually freestyle(not many of these either) their verses...and yes....there might be one punch that they have remembered...............but they don't use it in songs or other battles after....

Jin went mainstream & his album(s) flopped...Canibus' flops too...even though he's not that great of a battler rapper...Cassidy was an avg battler & his album's are avg also. Most battlers who go mainstream flop.

DZK is good...for what he does...but to mention him between Eminem & 2Pac is a bit outlandish. Most niggas don't even like him though...his style too rock n rollish.

emcees have always prepared lines before the battle. Obviously emcees freestyle too but prewrittens & recycles have been included. Now a days folks are afraid to admit it because of the idea that battles have to be totally off the top.

back in the late 70's early 80's cats wrote whole battle verses before hand. That's the roots. It's just one of the things that get's spread like truth. Kind of like the whole "four elements" thing. I love the four elements but back in the early 80s nobody was saying nothing about four elements. If we actually look back there was more than four elements that made up hip hop culture.

the idea that a live battle was all off the top didn't come about until this movement to revive the roots of hip hop...the motivation is good but it was based on a little misinformation.

1. Eminem - best all around diss track and freestyle battle rapper hands down, this really cant be argued. He has destroyed anyone he has faced.
2. Serious Jones- looks almost unbeatable, except maybe on was where hes unproven
3. 2pac - not the most lyrical but definitely the most personal, his shit hurt a mans pride
4. Cassidy- the brendas baby line was classic, im still made he bitched out of a battle with murda mook though
5. Nas/Jadakiss - they both had one ill ass diss track, which makes me think they are capable of more
6. Jay Z - Ether killed his ass though, at least he fucked Nas baby momma so he one the real life battle

The best emcee or one of the best who has ...more than ONE claim to being in or at the top ... has to be Jin!
He has only ever lost from wot is on the net about 2 battles and he even admits who he lost to.
Mr 106 & Park ... 100 grand Jin winning the power summit 2 years runin ... its tru he tried to go mainstream n is slowly gettin their but he is defo in the top 5 .. hes the top of my list.

yeh dats tru ... ppl do go into battles wit a few killer lines to work off within their freestyle, which is ok as they cn rhmye towards it or wit it from the top of their head...othas jus pre-write the whole battle..its jus dat given the amount of time they hav to spit they panic ... i give props to the 1st ....
