My Friend Needs DJ Tips Please Help

my friend needs help he's wants to learn how to be a ipod dj so he can host mixtapes for local rappers i dont really know too much to help him but im sure you people do he would like to know any software programs, make effects with songs(slow them down,remind them, fast-forward,etc..), how to say his dj name with sound effects over songs like (dj skee, whoo kid and everyone else does)

Download Fruity Loops Studio 6 or w/e is the newest

Virtual DJ works too for actual DJ techniques

ive only ever used Virtual DJ,and that program is pretty straight forward

and yes.i do know where to get them

if thats all he needs to do then he should get cool edit...you can change the tone of the vocals and everything else you described...if you cant download it ill upload it and tell you how to use the effects

aight...i have cool edit pro 2 but i think its the same with newer versions as well...

demon voice = click on effects - time/pitch - then the option "stretch" - then click on lower pitch

chipmunk voice - same as demon but click on higer pitch or helium

and there's other options under time/pitch...tell him to click on pitch blender or doppler shifter and experiment with the effects...there youll find the effect to speed up or slow down...like if you go to the audio forum and peep my black skies track (

) i used the "turntable losing power" effect in the pitch blender folder at the end of the song

now if he wanted to add sound effects (ex. explosions,gunshots, etc.) as he was sayin his dj name how would he go about doing that?

^^ first he needs the sound files of the explosions in mp3 or wav format or something like that...there should be a rectangular box under file and edit...if you hover over it with the mouse it shows which view itll switch to if you click it...either multietrack view or edit view...he has to be in multietrack view and then load his vocals, the beat and the sounds he wants to add by clicking on open file...he'll see all the files he's loaded on the left...he can put everything in one track but thats not easy...tell him to drag and drop the beat in track 1...his vocals in track 2 and the sound effects in track 3...he can move the beat, vocals and sound effects by right clicking and holding down, then whatever he clicked on moves with the mouse...he can move the vocals and sound effects to any part of the beat and have the effects play while he says his name or before or after
