RWD took time out of its busy schedule yesterday to attend the Brit's nominations launch party in Camden, London. Featuring performances from Adele and hosted by Reggie Yates and Kelly Osbourne, the night was rather glittering!

However, it wasn't quite so shiny for UK urban acts. Dominated by Take That, the Arctics, Girls Aloud and Mika, there was no mention of Kano, MIA or Dizzee in Best Male category - only, erm, Jamie T and Mark Ronson. We'll definitely roll with the Ron on that one.

No Amy in Best Female - Leona Lewis and Kate Nash were the closet you might get. Scroll through the rest - from Best Band (Ok, well, it wasn't like we were expecting Roll Deep to get a nod!) to Breakthrough and the best you can expect is Nash, Mutya or Ronson.

I guess we better hope Kanye, Alicia, Rihanna or Timbaland come through in the International categories. Though how Kylie was nominated for Best International album - despite bad reviews - and Kanye/ Rihanna weren't is a total mystery.

It seems a shame that in a year where Wiley, Dizzee, Kano and Tinchy Stryder all released strong albums, there's not one single nod. Then again, are you really surprised? I mean, they've already nominated Dizzee before, why would they need to honour him again?

Here's hoping the Mercury Prize does better.
