In 2003 the UK urban music scene was to see the introduction of a television station
that would help take UK urban music to new levels
Channel U launched in February 2003. The aim of the channel was to highlight to the
public, the raw and unsigned talent we have in the UK, and give them a platform from
which they could perform. Within six weeks of launch, Channel U generated over 1
million viewers per week!
Now in 2006, Channel U has now grown to be the UKs largest showcase for underground,
independent and unsigned artists and still plays an essential role in the support and
promotion of the UK urban music scene..
