News 50 Cent Revisits His Promise To Quit "I Won't Put Out Any More Solo Albums"

Tonight's premiere of VH1's Behind The Music: 50 Cent will feature SOHH's controversial 2007 footage of the G-Unit leader promising to retire if Kanye West out-sold him in a SoundScan challenge.

While providing fans with an overview of 50's career, the show will feature a portion of 50's publicized challenge to Yeezy.

"The people who give out trophies pick him because he's safe," Fif told SOHH in 2007. "My projects will make a way bigger impression by actually selling and that's an indication of the public's interest, how many people are interested enough to go spend 16 dollars on a CD, you know. I sell 1.1 million records in four days and I didn't get one trophy for The Massacre, for the entire album. And then release Get Rich Or Die Tryin' as a soundtrack, sell three million as a soundtrack and soundtracks are harder to sell than solo albums and then no trophies for the soundtrack. So I don't get trophies, I get checks. He gets trophies. It's gonna be difficult, how you give him a trophy now when he comes out the same time I come out and I'm all over his a**. He's still gonna get the trophies. And I'll still be sitting there like, 'It's cool, I'll get the checks.' They would like to see Kanye West give me a problem because I've worked my way into a space where I've become the favorite. Everybody roots for the underdog when he goes against the favorite, put it like this, let's raise the stakes. If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11th, I will no longer write music. I'll write music and work with my other artists, but I won't put out any more solo albums. And I bet when Kanye West's sales come in, he's gonna have a 70 percent decrease because Def Jam is gonna buy records to keep him close to 50 Cent. So watch the first week and watch the second week and watch his a** fall off the planet." (SOHH)

The show will reportedly also focus on his near-fatal 2000 shooting.

VH1 will premiere its' "Behind The Music" broadcast Thursday, September 10th at 10 p.m. with rap superstar Lil Wayne. A true hip-hop icon, Lil Wayne is candid in his discussion about the life that made him one of the most respected hip-hop artists in the industry, as he relays his first experiences with drugs, his introduction to Cash Money Records, and his amazing career highs. In the October 8th episode of "Behind The Music" airing at 10 p.m. T.I. describes the good and the bad of his life as a hip-hop superstar and how these experiences have helped him become the man he is today. 50 Cent will wrap up the series the following Thursday (October 13) at 8 p.m. Other artists include Bret Michaels, Bobby Brown and Pink. VH1 executives previously revealed the motivation behind the show's rebirth.

Jeff Olde, VH1 executive vice president, is adamant it's the right time for the show's return - insisting there are so many new and intriguing artists people want to know more about. He says, "It felt like the time is right. There's all sorts of new artists on the scene who have emerged and have these great stories. And there's other artists that we always wanted to do the first time around." (Yahoo News)

"He is in a good space creatively, but the actual agressive content and harsh realities of the actual "Baby Be Me" record is stopping his actual audience to vote for him and request his song on the radio, which is ironically getting overtaken by New Fab Single With Keri Hilson, which is 2 weeks in and already getting spins like 50 cents.

But 50 sells records, he dont win trophies...Im sure Curtis didnt have 72% Drop second week

and Kaney West didnt outsell him worldwide and USA by a huge Margin.
