News Saigon Stands By 50 Cent's Hood Credibility, "He's A Goon & He's In The Street"

New York rapper Saigon recently spoke on his relationship with 50 Cent and despite past comments by Jay-Z questioning the rapper's bad guy image, the rapper said Fif has maintained his street credibility.

According to Sai, he had a close relationship with 50 prior to the rap star's $100 million VitaminWater deal in 2007.

"Sha Money XL introduced me to 50 early in his career," Saigon revealed in an interview. "We sat down and chopped it up. I was actually G-Unit'ed out at one point. I was running around screaming that sh*t and all that. Like 'G-Unit n*gga!' 'cause me and Fif chopped it up...But we had a falling out, we both Cancers -- so as far as us being alpha-males, it's hard to co-exist around that n*gga. A lot of times it's his way or the highway. We kinda bumped heads, early...He never attempted, I never attempted to fix it. But to see him succeed, I kinda felt like I was succeeding...That n*gga Fif was like us, he's a goon, he's in the street, he wasn't no studio gangsta n*gga. He was a real n*gga, so for him to make it outta that -- seeing him make it out of that was kinda like gratification for me in a weird way...Sha Money is my manager now and Sha Money still works with Fif and if Fif ain't want that to go down, it wouldn't happened." While speaking with radio personality Trevor Nelson last month, Jay-Z said no one should be intimidated by 50.

"I think [Kanye West] would have [interrupted the VMAs] if that was 50 Cent, no one's scared of 50 Cent," Jay explained. "I want everybody to be clear, no one's scared of 50 Cent. So I just think that's what he believed. I think it was rude, I thought it was in appropriate. And I told him this much, but I don't think he was wrong." (BBC 1)

Fif previously explained his reaction to Kanye West's Video Music Awards 2009 on-stage outburst.

"Even an apology can't replace what it feels like for the very first time receiving that award. Now in [Taylor Swift's] head, 'My first award was Kanye West.' And it's damaging, I wish he would come take one of my awards so I can black his eye and in front of everybody..." (Much Music)

The rapper's image has also been questioned by Fat Joe in past interviews.

"Rick Ross is my brother," Joe said in an interview last winter during the Ross-50 beef. "I'm just telling you [the battle] is a bit too much for me already...Nobody's scared of no 50 Cent. Are you nuts are something? 50's nothing, man. Nobody's scared of him, I mean, tell me one person 50 Cent has fought. All this hoopla and all this stuff he's doing, you tell me who he has fought one on one. Why should we be scared of this guy in the slightest way?" (Jenny Boom Boom)
