Actually I took L by Praising Raekwon in other thread, thinking he is doing 60 000 first week on E1, I got EMI confused with E1 aka Koch,

EMI is not an indie, it is a huge major label That has Red Hot Chillies, MC and many other huge artists.

WTF, Raekwon Flopped than, 60 000 with Dre beats and all, Thats why he was on Itunes, Becoz Majors have deals with I tunes.

Eh...Take my words back, Rae Only accumulating 60 000 on Major, with 5 year Anticipation, That aint No Shit, Jadakiss had no promo either, maybe a bit more and he pushed 140 000.

When i said Rae Will Only push 17k, I thought he was on Koch, well, pushing 60k on major is the same, if not worse, condisering that Majors take Huge portion just for the Distribution and Pressing copies, regardless of what the album budget is.

jay doing 350 first week is great, those r the same numbers he did for american gangsta last year which means his sells didnt drop. everyones sales drops, look at kanye, eminem, 50, etc. For jay to do that, he is running shit.

jay's promo isnt even that big, i havent seen him on 106 n park n etc. He did a few tv interviews, thats about it and that crazy commiercal.

blueprint 3 is by the far the best album this year from a MAINSTREAM artist.

He has a huge promo and budget.Im Sure Timbo charged him 500k for a beat, knowing he is a half billionere.

And dont even think about taking 2007 sales to 2009,Game and Jeezy all pushed 350 000, Now they'd need at least 2 #1 Singles to do that.

Kaney did 400k with Groundbreaking Singles.

EMI Music isn't making enough money to comply with a 950 million pound loan ($1.56 billion) from Citigroup Inc., the Journal said, citing the people.

I find it surprising that all of the copyrights owned by this company could not be more easily financed. Some form of re-organization may be avoidable but it is hard not to believe that there could be some new consortium that would try to rescue this great musical catalogue.

EMI found it difficult to recruit new artists, a vital profit source for all music companies. When Depeche Mode last year agreed to release an album through EMI, the band's manager, Jonathan Kessler, says he had the leverage to demand a guaranteed marketing budget for the album. A spokesman for EMI said the company doesn't comment on contracts with artists.

The company fell out with Joss Stone, formerly one of its top-selling singers. Earlier this year, its Virgin Records America unit sued in the High Court of Justice, in London, to retrieve a $1.9 million advance to Ms. Stone. Virgin said Ms. Stone didn't deliver a record she was paid for, which Ms. Stone's lawyers disputed, according to court papers.

.Ms. Stone's spokesman declined to comment, citing the litigation. In recent performances the British singer has told audiences she has a new song, titled "Free Me"
