News 50 Cent Fires Back At "Family Day" Security Issues,"I Was Trying To Do Something Good

50 Cent has aired out his issues against the New York police and security issues which reportedly led to his Family Day cancellation today (August 30) and said he was not the reason why the publicized event did not take place.

Speaking with fans at his Great Adventures concert Saturday afternoon, the G-Unit leader said the show's cancellation was out of his control.

"I was trying to do something good," Fif told the crowd. "So as a kid, I wanted to make something for the kids and allow them to have that experience. Now check this out, when I try to do it in the hood, like everybody else would do in the hood -- they say 'No 50, don't be in the hood.' Y'all seen me come through, but all of them don't get to see me when I come through, right? So when I come through, and then they be like, 'We don't see 50.' And usually you don't see me because I'm somewhere where I'm not trying to be seen -- but I wanna show y'all something. Look over there, the top over there, that's the motherf*cking police. Those motherf*ckers follow me everywhere I go. And you know why? 'Cause I'm from Southside." (iStatus Clothing)

The event was postponed at the last minute Friday (August 28) afternoon.

The rapper 50 Cent has canceled a Family Day fair he had planned in his old Queens neighborhood amid police concerns about security for the event. The musician's manager, Chris Lighty, says the event is being postponed while organizers work out new arrangements with police. Authorities had been worried about whether they would have enough officers on hand to deal with crowds and keep the peace, especially if the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, performed. Skull Gang leader Juelz Santana spoke with SOHH and revealed his intent to attend the event.

"Oh yeah, I was definitely going out there," Santana revealed. "I was trying to come out there on four wheelers. Shout-out to the whole Shadyville, shout-out to the whole Hollis, 40 Projects -- everybody, I don't even wanna start saying names because I might forget. Shout-out to everybody in Queens you know, I f*ck around out there. I got a lot of peoples out there. One of my artists is from out there, Depp, you already know, it's Harlem all day.I was definitely going to be out there on four wheelers. I was gonna pop off on the four wheeler in the middle of the crowd. Like 'what up, what up, what up!'" (SOHH)

According to early reports, the event would have been heavily guarded for the protection of Fif and the people attending.

The planned appearance has sparked concerns from local authorities, who have recruited an "army of cops" to shut down the area, fearing violence will break out if a shooter takes aim at Jackson. There will be "hundreds" of cops - including officers from special gang units - who will be present. Community Board 12 manager Yvonne Reddick says, "The concern is the [lack of] manpower.
