News MC Ren Of N.W.A. Fame To Release First Solo Album In 11 Years

In a recent interview with HipHopDX.com, N.W.A. veteran MC Ren revealed he is getting set to release a solo album, his first in over 11 years. Ren's last album was 1998's Ruthless For Life.

"The album is like 70% completed, shit is bangin'! It's heat. I'm excited about it. I ain't did no album in like 11 years, so man, I'm excited with how everything is coming. I cannot wait to get this shit out," Ren said in the interview.

During his 11 year hiatus, Ren said he has been in the studio to record a track here and there but he has never went in with the intent of releasing an album until now.

"I started off and on, just doin' it. Really, this like the first time, to tell you the truth, [that I have] constructed an album. Any other time I went into the studio or did something, it was just, 'I'm goin' in just to record something.' I wasn't doin' it to put an album out."

Some of the songs he recorded during his hiatus where 2 N.W.A. reunion songs, which featured Snoop in the place of deceased group member Eazy E. Ren has also appeared on Public Enemy's Rebirth Of A Nation, Dr. Dre's 2001, Ice Cube's War & Peace Vol. 2 and Snoop Dogg's The Last Meal albums, as well as a few other limited low profile appearances.

MC Ren's rap career began in 1987 with the formation of the legendary group from Compton, California N.W.A. Later that year he appeared on long time friend Eazy-E's debut album Eazy Does It. In 1988 N.W.A., released their debut album Straight Outta Compton. Even after money disputes lead to Ice Cube and then Dr. Dre leaving the Eazy owned label, Ruthless Records, Ren stayed. Even after Eazy's untimely death in 1995, Ren continued to release his solo albums through Ruthless Records. His first solo album was 1992's platinum selling EP Kizz My Black Azz, which was followed by 1993's Shock Of The Hour, which was Ren's first album after his conversion to Islam. In 1996, Ren released The Villain Is Back which was followed by 1998's Ruthless For Life, which is his last solo album.

Ren's new album Renincarnated, will be the first album in his career not released through Ruthless Records. Although Ren did not mention a specific label the album would be released on, he did promise it will come out in the 4th quarter.

MC Ren was always underrated even when he was with N.W.A. propz to everybody in this thread so far not hating n respecting one of the pioneers of gangsta rap music i know there will b a bunch of haters comin tho so ill just say right now they can suck a dick
