The Game to Play B.A. Baracus in The A-Team.

While casting is underway for the big screen adaptation on the long running TV series, 'The A-Team,' Blackfilm.com has exclusively learned that rapper The Game is being considered for the role of B.A Baracus, which was originated by Mr. T on the television show.

Online buzz has it that the role was going to another rapper-turned-actor, Common, but with his recent casting opposite Queen Latifah in 'Just Right,' he may not finish filming before 'The A-Team' get rolling in August. Other possible candidates have included Ice Cube and mixed martial arts fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson.

Interesting enough, both Common and The Game appeared in the same film last year, 'Street Kings.' The Game made his film debut opposite Tyrese Gibson in 'Waist Deep.'

Distributed by 20th Century Fox , 'The A-Team' will be directed by Joe Carnahan (Smokin' Aces)

'The A-Team' revolves around the four members of a former commando outfit and current group of mercenaries. Their leader is Col. John "Hannibal" Smith, whose plans tend to be unorthodox but effective. Lt. Templeton "The Faceman" (usually referred to simply as "Face") Peck is a smooth-talking con-man who serves as the team's appropriator of vehicles and other useful items. The team's pilot is Capt. H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock, who has been declared insane and resides in a mental institution for the show's first four seasons. Finally, there is the team's strong man and mechanic, Sgt. B.A. "Bad Attitude" Baracus.

According to Variety, Liam Neeson was in negotiations to star as Hannibal Smith, while Bradley Cooper, after repeated denials, told MTV News that he will be playing the role of Templeton Peck.

Film is slated for release on June 11, 2010.

lol at them wanting to get soft ass Common on that Role, i mean, i love his music but he is waaaaaaaay too Soft for it, And Cube is Short as Fuck, Quinton Jackson would be awsome, Coz them all rocked Mohawks.

I guess they saw Game with a Mohawk and Thought he was the best for the role, he is Big, Tall and Angry.No homo..

game is a shitty actor, was terrible in street kings. should have gone with common, now HE was awesome in street kings and american gangster.

well, its not too late for Game to improve his acting skills...He had a lil part in Street Kings and he allways palys hard guys, thats the role that fits him..

Being typecast doesn't mean you'll improve as an actor... Don't see how his skills will improve playing the same character (gangbanger type) over and over. And he's not that mean to play B.A.

your calling Common soft but in Street King Common was way harder than Game, Game snitched to the cop in the movie and your calling Common soft when he killed a cop in the movie.
plus Game got that other movie his doing right now anyways

i think Ice Cube should get the role, he did do XXX State of the Union bit like A-Team so Cube should get this, hopefully.

game hasnt shown much in his acting so far, would be interesting to see if game gets more screen time. i would rather rampage jackson in that role, that is a real scary dude.
not a fan of the a-team so i prob wont watch it anyway

Game aint the best actor, but he isnt the worst, but this doesnt seem like a good role for him imo, I aint mad he is trying to do this acting thing, but BA in the A Team? WTF? I dont see it.
