News 50 Cent's Movie Goes Straight To DVD

According to multiple websites, movie studio Anchor Bay has bought the outright film distribution rights for 50 Cent's new "Streets Of Blood" movie. [watch here] Anchor Bay is known in the film industry for buying and distributing movies directly to DVD, so when you put 2 & 2 together, 50 Cent's new movie is going straight to video. "Streets of Blood" co-stars Val Kilmer, who reportedly got to be such good friends with the G-Unit general that he bought him a classic car. The DVD will reportedly be available in stores July 28th.

In related bad news for 50 Cent, the sales figures for his new video game "Blood On The Sand" were released. 50 Cent’s sequel to his 1st game "Bulletproof," only managed to sell 56,000 copies in its first week compared to over 650,000 "Bulletproof" sold back in 2005 (which eventually went on to sell over a million total).

well yeah, after seeing the trailer a while back, it was pretty obvious it was going straight to DVD.

Good thing he keeps shooting movies, but 50 should try to get smaller roles in bigger movies and work his way up... if he wants to become a respected actor, if not and he wants to jus get lead roles and get more gwap, then keep doin what he's doing.

Good Move, Straight to DVD releases are good too, if the album budget is quite low, I mean, as I know Belly 2 Had 1 mil budget, Shit sold over 260 000 Copies and made almost 6 million on DVD sales in USA alone..Whoever gets the other 5 mils is happy as fuck.Game, Henchman or whoever, Lionstage.

Same here, Shit is bigger, probably gonna sell more...

But Eh, No Box Office, fuck that, Val Kilmer aint that popular, Sharon Stone was last seen in the worst flops lately(Cat Woman), 50 cent, well, we already know his movies flopping.

actually a lot of good movies have went straight to dvd. typically action/horror movies or independent movies. for example all wesley snipes/ van damme/ seagal movies now go direct to dvd, they have a specific fan base but dont appeal to the general public that attends the cinema (kids/women etc). still get good money if you promote it right and a better option than not releasing it at all thereofore losing money AND wasting time.

Yeah that's all good... Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but direct to DVD films are still not good enough, for the big screen. So fuck if they're independent. 50's in a film coming out soon with Danny Dyer and Tamar Hassan (U.K. actors) they had to put that shit on hold cos they were that tight for cash. Budget of over just £1m and that's going to the cinemas, and that's independent. But people are gonna luck at a 50 cent film that went straight to DVD and think nah fuck it. His last album was curtis, his movies probably even worse bhahahahaah!!!!!

where did you hear the film with danny dyer was going to have a cinema release for definite?
danny dyer is a perfect example, a lot of his films have went straight to dvd because they may not appeal to a wide audience or have controversial content, but simply because they went straight to dvd doesnt mean they suck. it also doesnt mean they flopped, if the budget is low then they can still make a profit on dvd sales/rentals and royalties.

just recently green street 2 and JCVD went straight to dvd and friends who have seen them have said they are very good, so to simply categorize all straight to dvd as a 'flop' and trash is little stupid.

(and those hating on 50 cents' acting career you should remember that ja rule, ludacris, dmx, snoop dogg, the game, ice cube, ll cool j, red and meth have all appeared in straight to dvd releases but didnt get anywhere near as much hate)
