Article 50 Cent Plans Saints Row Movie

50 Cent is apparently interested in a making a Saints Row movie.

The bullet-ridden rap star revealed the info in a conference call promoting his new game 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, according to a source at joystiq.com.

He told journalists: "My relationship with THQ, you'll see Saints Row. I'm optioning the rights for that right now." Both Blood on the Sand and Saint's Row are THQ games.

The later title (and its sequel) would seem a perfect fit for self-styled gangsta rapper "Fiddy," with the game's action revolving around gang warfare in the crime-ridden city of Stillwater.

50 Cent has just finished making his own game. Now he wants to go the other way, and make a game into a movie.
The game, in this case, is Saints Row. At the moment, Kotaku is reporting that 50 Cent is busy optioning the film rights, and that he plans to help develop the screenplay.

"With my relationship with THQ, they'll actually see me develop Saint's Row into an actual screeplay and into a film project. I'm optioning the rights for that right now, so they'll see that before they see me do it from my own perspective for my game," he said.

Whether 50 Cent will star in the film, or simply produce it, is unknown. But somebody might want to tell him that movies based on games usually turn out to be pretty bad.

This is old from February but I never seen nobody post it up.
