Yesterday, 50 Cent’s website claimed that he'd been entirely cleared of any wrongdoing or involvement in a suspicious fire last May that destroyed the house he owns on Long Island. Suffolk County police are singing a different tune, however: “The investigation is still ongoing,” Suffolk County PD arson squad commander James Rooney told MTV News. “I don’t know where they got that information, but our case is still open and ongoing.”


Dix Hills Fire Department Chief Larry Feld told MTV News the blaze was "definitely suspicious." When pressed for details, Feld said, "I would say there is a strong possibility that it is suspicious because of the rapid movement of the fire, the volume of the fire that we had upon arrival, and the intensity. When I arrived — and I got there early — the whole first floor and second floor was engulfed, and the home was totally gutted.

"Let's put it this way," he continued, "this wasn't your ordinary fire."


The $1.4 million house, which 50's ex, Shaniqua Tompkins had been living in with the ex-couple's 11-year-old son, Marquise. At the time of the fire, Tompkins had claimed that 50 was behind the blaze and had threatened to kill her just days before the incident.

Naturally, 50 denied the accusations and filed a $20 million defamation suit against Tompkins in Connecticut in June. Both Tompkins and her son were sent to a hospital for smoke inhalation as a result of the fire. At the time of the fire, 50 was on a movie set in Louisiana. He cooperated with investigators when questioned about the matter.

In the months leading up the fire, 50 had been trying to evict Tompkins from the house, and the two have been waging a custody battle for the past year. In September, a judge gave 50 visitation rights with his sonon alternate weekends, granted Tompkins a restraining order that prohibits 50 from having contact with her and requiring couple to hand off their son at a police station.

Second. The judge already ruled that Shaniqua had to leave the house and that 50 could keep it.
Name one reason why he wanna put that house on fire????

Shaniqua also lost the lawsuit where she demanded 50 million dollars from 50.
So she really got nothing to lose.

They know 50 is innocent but becuz they don't have a suspect yet they don't wanna bring out 50's innocence otherwise the investigation isn't really relevant anymore. I think the fact that 50 is innocent hurts them the most.

9 out of 10 times when somebody's house is put on fire like this the residents inside die.
10 out of 10 times when somebody puts his own house on fire that person survive. So Shaniqua is the only one to blame for this.
