A: Def Jam Uses Promo Money that could have been used to promote the artist outside USA, and use it to buy their own records. So basically they dont loose or get any money, but they hype up the artist with their own sales.

Hence, Rappers like Jeezy and Rick Ross never ever tour overseas, never be on forbes and have no names. 50, Kaney,Game, Wayne are all on Zurich Festival in June, performing in front of 150 000 people with other bands and Jeezy and Rick Ross are not even known to the fans

ok a new cd on average gonna cost about $12. the artist only sees about 70 or 80 cents per album sold. the record labels prolly gonna make a $5 max. they gotta pay the shipping, they gotta pay the retail stores and everything else in between. so if they sell for $12 and def jam only makes $5 per copy, they're losing 7 bucks for every cd they buy themselves. thats a shit load of money to waste. it doesn't make any sense. they don't profit off the album by doing that. if that was the case, they'd be better off droppin jada

I think Jadas album is pretty good, didnt buy it, but I always thought Jada was a very underrated rapper. But I have to think Def Jam is in on this shit, I mean how does Flo Rida sell half that with a smash and Jada sells this with nothing? Maybe people feel fuck the ringtone 1 hot single shit album shit, they feel Jada may not have a huge single, but his album start to finish will be solid and worth buying, could be. Who knows though. If these hold up, thats very solid for Jada.

I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but both his album did 200k first week I believe, he had Hustlin, R Kelly, T Pain songs, big singles, and had very good first weeks, now economy is shit, sales be down and he doesnt have nearly as big of singles, plus the whole CO shit, now maybe you can argue the beef helps promote him, in many cases it would, but the CO shit I think hurts him as well, so with him being on Def Jam, they did it with Kanye, you know they dont want 50 to be dissing him for flopping, so what will his sales be like? Same with Banks and even Yayo, Yayo has So Seductive, I aint saying it would be in front of 10k people by himself, but they are both known from touring with 50, and both have albums and hit singles, On Fire and So Seductive, so they could tour if they wanted too as well. Now its alittle different since BAnks aint drop since 06, Yayo since 05, Game had an album last year, so he has more songs, and newer songs, so thats that, but Game is touring based on the Doc, cause without the Doc, he would be nothing, without 50 taking him in, he sits on the shelf until he either gets dropped or he goes back to the street to make money and live, he would be Stat, Bishop, Joel, Gauge etc without 50. So he is touring off the Doc, he isnt touring off the Doc music anymore, cause he is an artist and has more albums and songs and shit, but he has a career and gets to tour based off 50 taking him in and helping him.
