DETROIT -- Local rapper Trick Trick says that he was not involved in a Detroit shooting Monday morning that wounded two patrons of the Esko Lounge.

According to the Detroit Police Department, an argument led to a shooting at the lounge -- located in the 200 block of Michigan -- at about 1:15 a.m.

"There was a fight inside the club in which shots were fired and two men were wounded," said DPD Public Information spokeswoman Yvette Walker. "One of the men is in temporary serious condition; we don't know the condition of the other man."

Several media outlets identified one of the shooting victims as rapper Trick Trick, whose real name is Christian Mathias. The rapper told WKQI-FM (95.5) on Monday morning that he was at home "restin' and chillin'."

"I ain't left this house since Saturday," Trick told WKQI's "Mojo in the Morning" program Monday morning.

Trick said he received a concerned phone call from his mother early Monday, after she had heard a report on television that her son had been shot. After he told her he was safe at home, Trick said his mother called WDIV-TV (Channel 4) and told them to stop reporting the story.

As for why he had been linked to the shooting incident that reportedly left two wounded, "I'm still trying to figure that out," Trick said.

This is not the first time Trick Trick has been linked to violence he's said he's had nothing to do with.

Last year, Trick was reportedly involved in the alleged beating of Chicago rapper Yung Berg at a Detroit club he had ownership ties to at the time. Those reports were fueled when photos of Trick's brother holding Burg's signature necklace surfaced on the Internet. But Trick later said he was not involved in the scuffle, and that he was talking to members of Burg's entourage at the time of the incident.

Trick's latest album, "The Villain," was released in November and features guest turns from Eminem, Kid Rock, Ice Cube and more.

No arrests have been made in the incident, which is under investigation.

Detroit police are standing by their story that Trick Trick was shot at a local nightclub last night (March 16) despite the rapper's denials.

Reports surfaced early Monday morning that Trick Trick was one of two men who was shot at the Esko Lounge Sunday night.

The reports claimed that Trick Trick was shot in the thigh and was expected to recover.

Hours later, Trick Trick would appear on Detroit's WKQI-FM (95.5) claiming that he was at home and denied being shot.

"I'm at home. I ain't left this house since Saturday," the rapper said.

Despite his denials, Detroit police confirmed to The Detroit Free Press that Trick Trick was shot last night and was treated at a local hospital.

They claim they questioned Trick Trick (born Christian Mathis) about the shooting and his denials are untrue.

"We did speak to this individual," said Sgt. Eren Stephens Bell . "His musical performance name is Trick Trick. I'm confirming he's a local rapper."

The identity of the other man who was shot was not revealed.

Well it would be pretty fucking easy to see who is telling the truth, if he has a bullet wound in his leg he got shot, if he dont, then he didnt get shot.
