The entire Death Row Records catalog was sold to the highest bidder at an open auction yesterday, January, 15th (09).

According to reports, a Canadian company called Wide Awake Holdings walked away with priceless Hip Hop history for a mere $18 Million.

The auction was originally set to start at $24 Million, however Warner Music Group lowered the starting bid for unknown reasons to $18 Million.

Lydia Harris, who co-founded the label, wasn't too pleased with Warner's move. According to Blender Magazine, Harris won a $107 million settlement against Knight in 2005.

The label subsequently went into bankruptcy in 2006, and a bankruptcy court ordered the labels assets liquidated. In a previous auction a company with a winning bid of $24 million defaulted on payments, restarting the auction that went down yesterday.

"I'm extremely frustrated with the judicial system that has allowed all of the lawyers to be paid and none of the people who were instrumental in creating Death Row Records to receive a dime," Harris tells Blender.
