With his debut album, If Tomorrow Comes…, finally due out, the BK MC has much more to say than “Hi, hater.”

Being new and just getting out of jail, I needed to be heard. I wasn’t trying to go after nobody on “Rumors.” I put everything people were saying in the industry, barbershops and magazines into a song—we all heard that DMX smokes, right? We heard that Foxy Brown got beat up in a club… But rappers are sensitive. I wasn’t trying to disrespect anybody. I don’t live for no rappers—if they’re mad, fuck it.

I’m really a direct person. Since I was young, I’ve had no problems with confrontations. When I first got in, I was a lot more brash. I said a lot more things. I still speak my mind… But now I’m not just mixtape Maino. I am really starting to realize I got a country watching me and looking for chinks in my armor. Rappers go to jail every day now, so I got to be more mindful of what I’m doing.

Brooklyn made me who I am today. It’s good to see all these nice modern complexes and apartments… But the working-class people that’s struggling every day can’t afford that. Where I come from, it’s still like fucking ’92—pain, shooting at the police. It’s crazy.

There’s no representation of the new New York— it’s only the same people that have been here 10, 15 years. I feel like I’m the face of the new regime… But I don’t want to bring New York back; I want to bring it forward. Fuck what happened already. Where we bringing it back to? We got to focus on what’s right now.

Rappers getting their chains took ain’t never going to stop. [Laughs.] I like Yung Berg… But they’ve got to understand, “If you can’t uphold it, you shouldn’t have it.” People in the streets are hungry. Niggas even tried me in my own borough before. But I got my shit together. I’m wearing my jewelry on the fucking moon. Straight up with it.

I Really Like Maino Music I love his song call streets been good to me but
Atlantic Records Are Not Rushing to put his Album out unless you are a South Rapper Or a Pop Artists I dont see Them rushin This SINGER by the Name Of Deemi WHO CAN SING HER ASS OFF Is on Atlantic Records TO AND THEY BEEN PUSHING HER ALBUM BACK FOR THE LONGEST I REALLY HOPE HIS ALBUM COMES OUT IN 2OO9
